Monarch Mountain is a privately owned ski area 20 minutes west of Salida, Colorado on the continental divide. Monarch is all natural, we do not use artificial snow and our annual snowfall averages 350 inches. There are six lifts and two terrain parks open during the winter. The base elevation at Monarch is 10,790 feet and the summit elevation is 11,952 feet. We pride ourselves on hiring the friendliest employees and providing an outstanding experience for our staff and guests alike. Most employees live in the towns of Salida, Poncha Springs, or Buena Vista. There are local resources we can offer to assist in finding housing. At this time, Monarch Mountain does not offer employee housing.

Monarch provides an Employee Shuttle to work during the winter season. Please ask about pickup locations and times. Monarch is located 3 hours southwest from the Denver International Airport.

• The Mount Princeton Hot Springs is about a 20-minute drive from Downtown Salida and is a great place to keep warm in the winter.
