Join our close-knit team for creative cooking in a beautiful mountain town

Milo’s is an upscale casual, full-service restaurant located in the heart of Davis, West Virginia, a vibrant mountain town surrounded by outdoor recreation, arts, and a strong local food culture. We’re seeking a skilled and dependable Line Cook to join our small, professional kitchen team.  Our restaurant is entering its 8th year of success, due entirely to our amazing staff.

Position Details

Position: Line Cook
Type: Full-time
Schedule: Flexible; includes nights, weekends, and holidays.  

Although the position says "Seasonal", we are open to year-round employment.  Our first CoolWorks employee is still with us after 4 years!!

Compensation

• Base pay: $15–$20/hour (depending on experience)

• Tip sharing: Adds a minimum of $3/hour, with an actual average over $5+ per hour for the past 3 years (BOH shares 30% of all tips)

• Effective hourly pay: $20–$25+/hour

Our tip-share program reflects our belief in sharing success across the whole team.

Employee Housing (Optional)

We offer employee housing in our 8-room guesthouse located above the restaurant.
Each room includes a private bathroom and air conditioning.

• Rent: $500/month

• Utilities included (details provided during hiring)

This housing is right in town. You’ll have on-site parking, and you can walk to groceries, coffee shops, and other restaurants — no long commute or isolation required.

This is an excellent option for seasonal or longer-term staff seeking both convenience and community.

What You’ll Do

• Execute menu items consistently and efficiently on your assigned station

• Maintain high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and organization

• Work collaboratively with FOH and BOH staff during service

• Assist with prep, opening, and closing duties

• Contribute to a respectful, professional kitchen environment

What We’re Looking For

• Line cooking experience preferred (upscale casual or scratch kitchens a plus)

• Solid knife skills and understanding of basic cooking techniques

• Ability to work cleanly and calmly during busy services

• Dependability, professionalism, and a team-first mindset

• A genuine interest in good food and hospitality
