Lodge Caretaker - COUPLE PREFERRED

Are you ready for a unique opportunity to live and work in the breathtaking wilds of Alaska? As a Lodge Caretakers with us, you'll play an essential role supporting all facets of Lodge operations - ensuring security, functionality, and a welcoming environment for guests and owners. While it may not be a glamorous role, it offers an unparalleled experience and deep insight into the day-to-day running of a remote wilderness lodge.
What You’ll Do:
Winter Duties:
Remove snow from roofs and grounds to keep the Lodge safe and accessible
Cut and stack firewood
Other duties as assigned by the Lodge Manager
Summer Duties:
Provide a friendly, on-site presence to assist visitors and lodge users
Perform cleaning and janitorial tasks including laundry and facility preparation to ensure a clean environment during busy guest change-out days
General Responsibilities Year-Round:
Burn garbage and manage non-burnable waste for air transport
Maintain grounds such as mowing, cutting back brush, sweeping, and light painting
Transfer fuel and monitor fuel storage tank levels
Greet floatplanes at the dock and assist with loading/unloading
Conduct maintenance and repairs on Lodge buildings and equipment
Submit weekly activity reports to the Lodge Manager
What We’re Looking For:
A working couple is preferred
Friendly, organized, and responsible with excellent communication skills
Strong work ethic, service-oriented, and self-motivated
Healthy, physically fit, neat, clean appearance
Drug-free and non-smoker (pre-hire drug testing and background check may apply)
What You Get:
Room & Board: Included (personal items not included)
Amenities: Satellite TV and Starlink Internet access
Transportation: You cover travel to/from Anchorage, Alaska; we cover Anchorage-Lodge roundtrip flights
Compensation: $2,000 - $2,500 per month (per person), DEO, plus potential discretionary summer bonus based on performance and attitude
Tips: Some guests may tip depending on service, offering potential supplemental income
Unique Living Experience: Remote, peaceful environment coupled with busy summer months hosting owners, guests, and construction projects
Important Details:
Caretakers may be required to remain on-site except for serious emergencies. Any planned multi-day leaves must be approved by the Lodge Manager. The summer months can be busy with multiple work crews and groups arriving, so a positive, courteous, and self-reliant attitude is essential.
