Line Cook & Prep Cook for Catskill Farm to Table Retreat Center
Experience Tibet in the heart of the Catskills. Live and work while immersing yourself in nature, health and happiness.
For a thousand years, Tibet was called the "Land of Medicine" by its neighbors. It is in this spirit that we named our center Menla, which is Tibetan for "Medicine Buddha". Menla's mission is to offer a world-class spa and integrated healing system, combining the best of Western integrative medicine with elements of Tibetan medicine, Ayurveda, and other holistic traditions.
Located in the Catskills
Jobs in the Spotlight
Menla is tucked away in the crater of one of the earliest known meteor impact in the heart of the Catskills. Serving as the setting for all of Tibet House's retreats and other special programs, we host an array of different groups throughout the year. Working at Menla give an employee a true sense of community, where guest and employees alike share in the magic this Forest Getaway has to offer.
Unlike other retreat centers, where you could go months without learning the names of your fellow employees because there are so many of them, our small staff strives to support one another on and off the clock.
Whether it be bonfires, potlucks, movie nights or staff led classes, we try to engage our staff to interact with one another to make work life and home life enjoyable for all.
The Employee Experience
Working at Menla requires a positive attitude, attention to detail, dependability, and the ability to multi-task and communicate well with others. A good candidate would be grounded and able to integrate their personal life goals with those of Menla's mission of promoting health, well being and compassion all while being able to provide the highest caliber of customer service to our guests. Service industry and prior retreat center experience a plus but not required.
