Seat Overview
The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of resort facilities through preventative maintenance, repair work, inspections, and general facility upkeep. This role is responsible for maintaining building systems, responding to maintenance requests, supporting exterior and snow operations, and helping ensure all guest and staff environments remain operational, clean, and guest-ready.
Facilities Maintenance Technicians may operate at varying levels (Technician I, II, or III) based on technical experience, independence, troubleshooting ability, and operational leadership. Higher-level technicians are expected to demonstrate increased technical expertise, system ownership, and support of team development and operational coordination.
Technician I - Performs entry-level maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks under guidance while developing technical knowledge of resort systems and operations.
Technician II - Performs skilled maintenance work independently across multiple systems and demonstrates strong troubleshooting and work order ownership.
Technician III (Senior Technician) - Provides advanced troubleshooting, technical leadership, system ownership, and mentorship support while assisting with operational coordination and complex repairs.
This role requires technical aptitude, sound judgment, adaptability, and the ability to work effectively in both independent and team-based environments across changing operational conditions.

Perform skilled maintenance and repair work to keep facilities safe, operational, and guest-ready.
Core Accountabilities
Maintenance Execution: Complete assigned repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, utility, and building systems.
Responsiveness: Respond promptly to work orders, operational issues, and facility concerns to minimize downtime, operational disruption, and guest impact.
Facility Appearance: Maintain the cleanliness, functionality, and presentation of public spaces, lodging units, exterior areas, and on-hill facilities.
Safety & Compliance: Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout practices, PPE requirements, and maintenance standards while identifying and reporting hazards or unsafe conditions.
Snow & Exterior Duties: Support snow removal, salting, exterior upkeep, lighting maintenance, and grounds support to maintain safe and accessible facilities.
Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete work orders, inspection records, maintenance logs, preventive maintenance documentation, and vehicle or equipment reporting.
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Supervisors, FMX leadership, Lodging, and Operations teams while proactively identifying equipment, supply, or facility needs.

Qualifications & Competencies
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to safely operate maintenance tools and equipment
Valid driver’s license preferred or required based on operational needs
Ability to work independently and adapt to changing operational priorities
Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends, holidays, evenings, and peak operational periods
Ability to perform physical work in indoor and outdoor environments, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in varying weather conditions
Preferred Qualifications
Prior facilities maintenance, mechanical, construction, custodial, or trade-related experience
Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or building systems
Experience operating maintenance equipment, snow removal equipment, or utility vehicles
Hospitality, lodging, resort, or commercial facilities experience
Pool/spa maintenance experience or CPO certification preferred for applicable assignments
