Includes room and board!

We have a unique job opportunity that calls for a well-rounded, detail-oriented individual.

Our property features a community of 16 tiny homes (with more currently under construction), all located on the same 12-acre site. We’ve had a full-time cleaner for the past eight years, and she’s looking for additional help to share the workload. Cleanliness is something we take great pride in—it’s reflected in our excellent guest reviews—so we maintain high standards and are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail.

Schedule & Compensation

Primary workdays: Days working will vary, but Saturdays and Sundays will likely be fixed work days.
Hours will vary depending on business needs
$12/hour - that does include room and board in our personal home. Your own bedroom with a shared bath.
We can guarantee up to 40 hours per week
Role Overview
To reach full-time hours, responsibilities will extend beyond the rental business into helping with our personal home, which is located on the same property.

We are a family of eight with six children ranging from ages 4 to 15. My wife primarily runs the business, and while we share responsibilities at home, balancing everything can be a challenge—especially with my full-time job. We’re looking for someone who can help support both our business and home life.

Responsibilities Include

Cleaning and maintaining overnight rental units

Someone that would enjoy corresponding with the guests and helping us with messages.
Cleaning and organizing our personal home
Assisting children with organizing their rooms and building good habits
Light cooking and general household support
Occasionally helping transport kids to activities
Being available for occasional evening on-call guest needs
Lifestyle Fit
We’re looking for someone who:

Enjoys working with children and being part of a family environment
Is proactive, organized, and takes pride in their work
Is comfortable balancing both professional and personal responsibilities
Is interested in a longer-term opportunity
We love to travel—often with our kids, but sometimes just the two of us. Having someone reliable on-site would occasionally allow us to take short trips while knowing things are handled at home.

We’ve previously hosted a live-in au pair and had a great experience, but we recognize that having someone fully living inside the home isn’t always the right fit. This role offers a balance between independence and involvement.

Additional Details

Workdays typically begin around 9:00–10:00 AM (checkout is at 11:00 AM)
Workdays rarely extend past 4:00 PM (check-in is at 4:00 PM) for the business but with occasional cooking needs in our home those hours could go later.
Occasional evening availability may be requested
We also have a full-time, on-site maintenance team member who is great to work with

If you have questions or feel like this could be a good fit, we’d love to hear from you.

My wife and I own and operate a small community of tiny homes in the Smoky Mountains that we rent as overnight vacation rentals. We’ve been in business for eight years and are currently building two additional homes on our 12-acre property. We’re a small, hands-on operation with one full-time cleaner and one full-time maintenance employee. Looking for one more cleaner for the next few months.
