About Lasting Adventures

Lasting Adventures is a 501(c)(3) public benefit non-profit with a mission to foster environmental stewardship, teach responsible recreation, and provide opportunities for personal growth through the facilitation of impactful wilderness experiences. Lasting Adventures seeks to provide youth, families, and disadvantaged communities with positive experiences in America’s National Parks and natural spaces.

The Employee Experience

Working at Lasting Adventures is an experience that lasts a lifetime. Our tight-knit staff includes some of the most passionate outdoor educators and guides in the industry. Our staff is a collection of fun-loving, hard-working professionals. A passion for sharing the outdoors with others is what brings people to work at this top-rated Yosemite and Olympic guide service and youth program.

Yosemite and Olympic National Parks, our two flagship locations, are some of our awesome workplaces and where our staff goes for fun on their days off. The nearby recreation opportunities are endless and our community living spaces foster friendships and partnerships for outdoor objectives

The season begins with our in-house staff training and backpacking trip, where you will build relationships with your coworkers and learn about our program, the park you work in, and any related skills. After weekly Summer Camp trips return on Fridays, we have a staff bar-b-que, which is provided by the company. We also have several activities and events planned for the summer, including a Halloween party, and mountainous staff adventure!

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for passionate, motivated, and hard-working individuals that have a deep desire to share the outdoors with others. Working as an outdoor educator and guide requires exceptional mental and physical toughness as well as strong communication skills. A positive attitude and a willingness to constantly improve are paramount. While good judgment and a commitment to safety are critical to the success of all guides, the ability to remain light-hearted and fun is also vital.

Room and Board

We offer our guides highly discounted rates on camping with amenities at our guide-house. The facility includes a kitchen, shower, and washer/dryer, library, TV, Wifi, parking, and communal areas. All meals are covered while working overnight trips.

Employee Perks

In addition to competitive pay, Lasting Adventures guides have access to pro-deals on various outdoor clothing and gear. We also provide staff with apparel that's embroidered with our company logo to serve as a uniform. Finally, we offer professional development throughout the season which includes a week-long training in late May (Yosemite) or early June (Olympic).

Getting Here and Getting Around

Having a reliable vehicle is highly recommended, although not required for all staff. Although carpooling to and from Yosemite is easy and efficient, there will be times when it is nice have a vehicle of your own. A vehicle is necessary for future work opportunities with our guide service program.

For Fun

Lasting Adventures picks spectacular locations along the west coast to run our programs. A great benefit of this is our staff has access to these incredible places for their personal recreation too!

Yosemite attracts millions of visitors every year, and for good reason! There are endless opportunities for adventure throughout the park and its foothills. Although backpacking is what ultimately draws many of our guides to the area, Yosemite is a world famous rock climbing destination, and the surrounding forests offer incredible rafting, swimming, and mountain biking adventures. In short, Yosemite is an outdoor recreation paradise. Many people have spent a lifetime playing and working in the Sierra Nevada without ever wanting to leave!

Olympic National park is known for miles of stunning hiking trails, and a huge variety of terrain to explore. From rugged beaches to alpine ridges, the Olympic Range is one of the most diverse places in the world. Backpacking, mountaineering, fishing and boating are just a few of the activities to do in the park.

Our primary locations, Yosemite and Olympic National Parks, are some of the most dramatic and well regarded in the world, but don't forget about our other program locations: Joshua Tree National Park, Inyo National Forest, Lassen Volcanic National Park and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks.
