Maintenance Technician
$1,200.00 / week

Join our team at Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground and experience an unforgettable summer in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to help keep our 86 campsites, 30 lodging units and on-site restaurant running smoothly. This is a hands on role ideal for an experienced multi-trade technician who enjoys independent work in a beautiful, remote northern setting. 
Key Responsibilities
• Open all buildings and systems from winterization in early May. 

• Perform plumbing repairs and maintenance on copper, galvanized, and PEX lines. 

• Replace faucets, toilets and water heaters. 

• Use plumbing snakes and other tools to unclog drains. 

• Handle basic electrical tasks, including changing out breakers. 

• Service and maintain propane systems, including heaters, water heaters and kitchen appliances. 

• Complete basic carpentry repairs such as decks, doors and walls. 

• Work closely with resort staff and interact professionally with guests in a hospitality environment. 

• Be on-call for emergencies throughout the day. 

• perform full winterizations of all systems and buildings at the end of the season mid October.
Qualifications
• Self-motivated, and comfortable working in a seasonal, remote resort environment. 

• Positive, professional attitude when working around staff and guests. 

• Valid driver's license

• Basic carpentry skills

• Strong experience with plumbing. 
Housing is free for our Maintenance Technician. There are several cottages right next to the restaurant that are all dedicated to staff housing. There are also a few staff cottages by the campground. If you are interested in a campsite that is possibly an option depending on availability.

Copper Harbor is a small town at the northernmost point in Michigan. With a year-round population of 100, the unique beauty and world-class mountain biking trails brings travelers from all over the country. Many of the tourists return year after year, and we want Lake Effect Bar and Grill to be on the top of their to-do list. For that reason, we only serve fresh, never frozen Whitefish, burgers, wings, chicken tenders and more.  
It is important that you are familiar working a grill and fryer in a fast-paced environment.

Join our team at Lake Effect Bar and Grill and experience an unforgettable summer in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We are looking for an energetic, positive and friendly bartender to create a fun, welcoming environment and help make every visit memorable. 
While cocktail skills are a bonus, beer knowledge is key.  
As the bartender, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Daily setup, closing, and cleaning of the bar and dining areas.

• Inventories and ensures the bar is properly stocked.

• Greets all guests and helps to create an amazing experience.

• Prepare all alcoholic drinks for the bar/restaurant.

• Able to answer guest's questions on the menu, drinks, and the surrounding area.

• Properly enter all guest orders into the POS system and balance the register at the beginning and end of the shift.

• Cleaning the bar before and after each shift
The shift we are looking to fill would alternate during the week between opening and closing the bar. 
Lake Effect Bar and Grill is a popular place for the locals, seasonal workers and guests to be after a day full of adventure. Being a bartender, you will quickly meet the locals and meet other seasonal workers from the town. 
Housing is $50 a week, there is a good chance you will have your own private room, however it is not a guarantee. There are several cottages right next to the restaurant that are all dedicated to staff housing. If you are interested in a campsite that is possibly an option depending on availability.

Your responsibilities mainly consist of making sure rooms and cottages are clean and ready before check-in and laundry.
Lake Fanny Hooe Resort and Campground have a total of 86 campsites, one clubhouse with bathrooms and showers and a laundry facility. Also on the property are two motels, 7 cottages and the restaurant Lake Effect Bar and Grill.

You’ll play a key role in keeping the campground clean, organized, and running smoothly. We are looking for someone who will take pride in their work, keep the campground/campsites clean, organized and help create a welcoming atmosphere for guests. This position requires someone who can work independently, stay motivated and manage campground tasks on your own.

Responsibilities 
• Clean campsites daily, which includes picking up litter and cleaning fire pits.

• Maintain sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, planters.

• Complete small campground maintenance projects when needed.

• Clean the clubhouse, bathrooms and laundry room daily.

• Ensure that the campground office area is free of weeds, leaves, or debris.

• Would be in charge of mowing the lawns/weed eating for the entire resort. 

• Assist the Maintenance Manager with projects for the entire resort. 

• Be able to work in an unsupervised environment

• Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers, and management.
