Experience on Alaska glacial braided rivers is a huge plus.

Position: Rafting Guide

Season: Immediate opening through the summer season
Schedule: Seasonal, variable schedule including weekends, holidays, and long field days

Kenai Backcountry Adventures is a small, professional Alaska adventure company based in Seward. Our team guides river, glacier, hiking, backpacking, and remote wilderness experiences throughout Southcentral Alaska. We value safety, preparation, professionalism, teamwork, guest service, and guides who take pride in doing the work well.

Rafting Guides are responsible for leading commercial river trips, conducting safety briefings, managing guests on the water, reading changing river conditions, rigging and maintaining equipment, assisting with shuttles and logistics, and helping keep the operation ready each day. This role requires strong judgment, clear communication, physical capability, and a calm, guest-focused attitude.

This is a great fit for someone who wants to guide in Alaska, work hard, and be part of a serious field operation in one of the most beautiful places in the state. Prior commercial rafting experience is required or strongly preferred, and candidates with Swiftwater Rescue, Wilderness First Responder, EMT, Alaska guiding experience, trailer driving experience, or glacial braided river experience will be especially competitive.

How to Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief note outlining your rafting experience, certifications, availability, and any experience you have guiding on Alaska glacial or braided river systems.

Immediate availability is strongly preferred.
