Are you passionate about the outdoors, kayaking, and sharing unique experiences with others? Kayak Lake Mead is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic tour guide to join our team! This is a 1099 independent contractor position, with flexible shifts available in the morning, afternoon, or sunset, depending on bookings.

Details:

• Location: Tours launch from Willow Beach, AZ, with all equipment stored in White Hills, AZ 

• Tour Duration: Each tour takes about 4.5 to 5 hours, including the tour itself and preparation time (e.g., equipment setup and breakdown).

• Pay: $150-$175 per tour, averaging roughly $35-$39 per hour based on the 4.5 to 5-hour duration.

• Tour Distance: Approximately 4 miles total per tour.

• Equipment: All kayaking gear is provided and stored at the White Hills location. Kayaks weigh between 40-60 lbs, so some lifting is required.

• Housing Option: We offer a free bedroom at our White Hills home office, available only to approved tour guides. Staying on-site is optional but highly recommended. Applicants willing to stay in White Hills are preferred, as commuting from Las Vegas or Boulder City requires a highly inconvenient, unpaid commute. Equipment must be picked up and returned to White Hills.

• Shifts: Vary based on demand—could include morning (8 am launch), afternoon (1 pm launch), sunset, or a combination.

Requirements:

• Must have current Wilderness First Responder (WFR) and CPR certifications. Reimbursement for certification costs may be available for committed contractors.

• Comfortable leading groups on kayak tours (experience preferred but not required—training available).

• Friendly, dependable, and able to engage with guests.

• Attention to detail to ensure gear is in top shape, some mechanical aptitude for minor fixes, and the ability to work efficiently to keep tours on schedule.

• Physically capable of paddling 4 - 8 miles and handling kayaks weighing 40-60 lbs.

• Must be willing to pick up and return equipment to the White Hills home office.
