As our Lead Kayak Guide, you won’t just be paddling; you’ll be the architect of adventure, guiding guests through breathtaking landscapes while mentoring a passionate team of guides. This role is perfect for a seasoned explorer who thrives on high-level safety coordination, expert navigation, and the art of storytelling under the open sky. If you have a deep respect for the marine environment and the leadership grit to manage logistics in the wild, we offer the ultimate "office" view and a community that lives for the next tide.

Lead Guide Requirements:                                        

  • Have current First Aid and CPR certification.

  • Perform all aspects of kayak rescue techniques.

  • Ready to hike up to six miles a day.

  • Lift and move up to 65lbs.

  • Demonstrate positive and patient communication skills with the public.

  • Understand the daily tidal fluctuations and weather of Kachemak Bay.

  • Identify the common animals and birds of Kachemak Bay.

  • Familiar with the First People of Kachemak Bay.

  • Understand Global Climate Change (GCC), specific to Kachemak Bay.

  • Assist with all aspects of tour coordination as needed.

  • Have a personal cell phone capable of operating Google Calendar, submitting an electronic timecard, and have the Fare Harbor App.

  • Have a personal kayak rescue PFD, first aid kit, multi-tool, bivy sack and extra clothes for clients for emergencies.
