We have always wanted to give garden tours to the public, where we can share the knowledge of tropical flora and fauna with others, and display the abundance of food and flowers that grow on our farm and are present in our dishes. One of the features of this experience would be to offer an elevated tasting menu, using only locally sourced and preferably plant-based ingredients. We are currently in search of an experienced chef who wishes to put their creativity and knowledge of the land to work in our test kitchen. You will work closely with the owners of the farm to carefully craft a seasonal and colorful menu. Having attended culinary school is not required but preferred. Please only apply if you have professional experience. 

As a gardener at Hana Farms, you support the business by growing, harvesting and washing produce. While there are endless tasks to complete in this department, our main focus is supplying greens and herbs to our restaurant. Other projects include weeding, watering, row crop maintenance, and landscaping. Occasionally, you may be tasked with minor building projects. You will mainly spend your work week dedicated to learning and aiding our farming methods in fruit and vegetable propagation and harvest. We grow fruit for our products and vegetables for our pizza and salad operations. We have developed fruit groves, food forests and low till row crops with an emphasis on building organic, healthy soil. A lot goes into maintaining our crops and edible landscapes, so we are looking for people willing and able to work hard. You should expect to work outside in all conditions, with a team or independently. All experience levels are welcome as long as you are down to get dirty! 

Working in our bakery entails making banana bread, pizza dough and desserts to support our retail stand and pizza restaurant. Shifts range from early morning bread baking and daily dough mixing to crafting a variety of sweets. You may be working independently or with a small team. This is a great fit for experienced and home bakers alike.

Hana Farms was created on bare land with no utilities or structures. Over the past 20 years, we have built everything on the farm. A day is always about building and growing as a farm, a business, and a homestead. Current projects range from short-term small tasks like fixing water leaks or building shelving to our larger ongoing projects such as creating housing and larger structures. Some projects require very skilled and professional builders or plumbers, others smaller projects can be done by those with amateur skills.

We are always interested in recruiting folks with construction skills, including framing, electrical, plumbing, and concrete pouring. We also like to work with artists and those with specialized skills in areas such as aquaculture and self-sustainability projects.
