- Perform daily housekeeping tasks including changing bedding, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, straightening guest rooms, common areas, and kitchens.
- Launder bedding and linens and keep an adequate inventory of clean linens for guest use.
- Perform periodic window cleaning, dusting, sweeping, mopping, and other deep cleaning tasks of guest facilities.
- Assist Server & Housekeeper as needed.
- Set-up and maintain daily coffee/tea service in all guest cabins.
- Stock beverage coolers and guest snack items.
- Wash dishes associated with guest beverage service, ensure an adequate supply of clean dishes for guest use.
- Light and maintain fireplace and woodstoves in guest facilities.
- Periodically straighten guest common areas, decks, and sauna building throughout the day.
- Interact with guests and assist them in taking advantage of Retreat activities.
- Answer telephone and take messages for Retreat guests and staff.
- Assist with organization and maintenance of Retreat supplied guest outdoor apparel.
- Assist in maintaining Retreat flowerpots and beds.
- Possess a thorough understanding of how a Retreat operates and what tasks must be performed to accomplish operational objectives and ensure high quality service for guests.
- Possess basic housekeeping skills and knowledge regarding the safe use of various cleaning tools, equipment, and chemicals.
- Knowledge of and ability to implement company safety procedures and Retreat safety policies.

- This position may require access to reliable transportation for occasional travel between retail store locations, offices, worksites, or other locations as needed.
- This position requires living and working at a remote Alaskan retreat for a period of approximately five (5) months (room and board provided).
- Transportation to and from the retreat requires traveling by small aircraft and/or boat.
- Must be willing and able to work seven (7) days per week.
- Position is physically demanding, requiring daily long hours of standing, moving, bending, and reaching.
- Some duties involve exposure to cleaning agents, solvents, chemicals, and working outdoors in various Alaskan weather conditions.
- Must be physically capable of safely and effectively performing a variety of functions involving moving, transporting, positioning, and maneuvering equipment, supplies, and loads of up to 50 lbs.

- Function as Range Master on Retreat skeet shooting range.

- Knowledgeable of and able to perform the duties of a professional fishing guide including knowing how, when and where to fish, appropriate and professional interaction with guests, safe watercraft operation in a variety of water and weather conditions and understanding of fish and wildlife characteristics and behavior.
- Ability to operate as a skilled boat operator, fisherman and instructor that is familiar with the remote Alaskan environment and, knowledgeable about Southwest Alaska geography.
- Ability to skillfully, properly and safely operate Retreat equipment including power tools and motorized equipment.
- Must be able to perform routine minor boat, outboard motor and jet unit servicing.
- Ability to perform a variety of tasks, working independently or with other personnel in a remote environment
- Knowledgeable of laws and rules regulating sport fishing and be able to both promote and follow catch and release practices.

- Facilitate various outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, fishing, or wildlife observation.

- Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in boating on lake/ river or employment in a similar position.
- First Aid/CPR/AED training – within one month of hire.

- USCG Operator Uninspected Passenger Vessel certification (OUPV).
- Must live and work at a remote retreat location (with employer provided room and board) for a period of approximately five (5) months.
- Work week schedule is set at seven (7) days per week.
- Most duties are performed outside with exposure to weather.
- Must be capable of performing a variety of physical functions involving safely move, transport, position, maneuver loads up to 70 lbs., efficiently and safely entering and exiting aircraft, boats and other motorized equipment, operation of, 4-wheeler and Bobcat, climbing ladders to heights of 20 feet, rowing an 18 foot river boat for sustained periods, standing and operating an outboard motor in rough water conditions and be able to demonstrate both fly fishing and conventional fishing techniques.
- Daily moving, traversing, and positioning self on varied uneven or unstable surfaces such as roofs and in trenches, often hampered by weather elements.
- High degree of dexterity and coordination to operate hand tools and to connect, separate, and twist multiple smaller items daily.
- Visual acuity is necessary to identify, inspect, observe, and assess details at near, mid, and far ranges.
- Ability to clearly distinguish colors for driving, identifying cables or other components, and safety signage.
- May encounter unrestrained animals/pets.
- Physical stamina to lead tours and engage in activities for extended periods.
- Prepare meals, appetizers, and desserts, including plating meals and preparing meals for banquet service.

Housekeeper
GCI's Housekeeper will perform various housekeeping tasks for guest lodging facilities at GCI’s Agulowak Retreat. Maintain adequate inventory of linens and cleaning supplies, stock guest snack and beverage items, set up daily coffee/tea service in guest buildings. Interact with guests ensuring a quality experience.

Remote Camp Guide
GCI's Remote Camp Guide will provide small boat operation and guiding services for guests of the company, serve as a fishing, hiking, sightseeing, kayaking, sailing and skeet range guide, and to conduct various operational tasks and facility maintenance tasks as needed. Operate, drive, and navigate passenger boats according to regulations. Instruct guests on boating safety and use of life jackets. Report to supervisor all accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions.
