Situated on the sunny shores of Case Inlet in the South Puget Sound, Camp Gallagher is one of the most stunning summer camps in the world. Here, middle and high schoolers unplug from screens and schedules to dive into nature, friendship, adventure, and stewardship.
The Gallagher community celebrates diversity—campers of all genders, races, abilities, and sexual orientations are welcomed and supported.
All staff are responsible for leading overnight boat trips on the Puget Sound and fully participating in the adventurous culture of camp. As a staff, we strive to be hardcore adventurists—pushing ourselves and our campers out of comfort zones in a supportive community to foster growth, confidence, and resilience.
Our summer season runs mid-June through late August, with some opportunities in the shoulder season. Staff participate in a 12-day training, then lead sessions of varying lengths with 2½-day breaks in between. Staff are based on camp property for the duration of each session, fully immersed in camp life and operations--and because we run a small, tight-knit program, availability for the full summer is strongly preferred.
LODGE LEADER DESCRIPTION: The Lodge Leader is a full-time, seasonal member of the Camp Gallagher summer staff and serves as the primary caregiver and overnight leader for their campers. This role is responsible for planning, and leading daily programming as well as multi-day, overnight boat expeditions on human-powered watercraft around the South Puget Sound. Lodge Leaders guide campers through physically and mentally challenging experiences that build resilience, teamwork, and confidence. This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, and a commitment to safety while fostering a supportive environment where campers are challenged, cared for, and encouraged to grow.
