Escalante Outfitters is a positive “one stop” vacation destination for visitors exploring the canyons, deserts, and high plateaus of Southern Utah. Whether our guests are eating at our restaurant, staying at our facilities, outfitting for a backpacking trip or going out with one of our guides, we strive to provide our visitors with the resources and knowledge to make their trip safe and memorable.
Escalante Outfitters is located in the heart of Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. The outdoor recreation opportunities from Escalante to Glen Canyon to Boulder Mountain are endless.

About Escalante Outfitters
Located in the heart of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Escalante Outfitters offers a one-stop-shopping experience for tourist, backpackers and adventures. We are a family run, multi-faceted business with a pizza restaurant, gear shop and cabin rentals. During our busy season (March-November) we keep a staff of 25-30 part time to fulltime employees. Our fulltime employees work 40 hours a week, with 2 to 3 days off in a row, giving everyone an opportunity to get out and explore.
We are looking for people who are responsible and have a passion for good food and the great outdoors. Being a family owned and operated business our employees must be willing to help-out in all aspects of daily operations.

Room and Board
The town of Escalante is very small remote town - with a population of 800, and housing can be hard to come by. We have some housing options available and can assist in finding housing in town.

All gear and merchandise in the shop is discounted 25% for employees, and pro-deal options through distributors are available. We also offer staff meal and discounted groceries through the restaurant. Getting Here and Getting Around
All Employees must provide their own transportation to Escalante. The Outfitters is within walking or bike distance in town. To fully enjoy all the benefits of living here a personal form of transportation is helpful.

There are endless recreation opportunities here in Escalante. Streams to fish, landscapes to paint and photograph, local pioneer history to study, slot canyons to explore, hidden back country swimming holes to find, mountain bike trails to discover…there is something for every outdoor enthusiast. Since the Outfitters is the center for beta on recreation activities, it’s never hard to plan your days off.
Current Job Openings
Line Cook
Line cooks are responsible for building pizzas salads and sandwiches. The job is fast paced and you must work quickly, efficiently, and be extremely organized. Other duties include: prepping your line for upcoming and next shift, keeping your work area clean and organized, and deep cleaning at the end of the day. Ideal candidate must be a team player and willing to work in all aspects of the kitchen. Pay is hourly wages based on experience plus tips. This is a full time role.
Waitstaff
Besides taking orders and delivering food and drinks to the table, the wait staff is responsible for keeping café clean and presentable at all times, working with kitchen staff, serving beer, and running a full espresso bar. Wait staff must abide by Utah’s alcohol laws. Pay is hourly wages based on experience plus tips. Full and part-time positions are available.
Store Clerk
Working in the gear store includes: Friendly and knowledgeable customer service, familiarizing yourself with all merchandise and guide services offered by the Outfitters, and knowing the surrounding area to help customers with maps and trip planning. Other duties include checking customers into cabins and tent sites, keeping the liquor store stocked and presentable, checking all ID's for alcohol purchases, and helping in café as needed. Applicants must be 21 years or older to apply and will be required to get the Utah save serve license for selling alcohol. There are full and part time positions available.
