The Front Desk Associate is the primary point of contact with guests. They are responsible for preserving Doe Bay’s unique culture by providing excellent guest service as it pertains to reservations, communications, and store operations. The position addresses guest needs, provides information, maintains unit inventory, reservations, and room assignments, processes guest folios, manages cash, and supports General Store operations.

This position would begin training as early as Friday, November 1st.
Hourly wage starting at $20/hr DOE.
Medical and dental benefits optional.
The schedule for this position is 4 days per week, 8:30a-5:30p (32-36 hours)
Seasonal or potential for long term
Limited onsite housing is available for a nominal monthly fee of $200.
Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:
Education - High School diploma or equivalent
Minimum 1-2 years of customer service experience, ideally in the lodging industry
All applicants should be legally authorized to work in the United States (not sponsoring H2B Visas at this time)
Must be 21 years or older
A Typical Day at the Doe Bay Front Desk
Overall, our customer service representative/front desk is the “face” of the resort. The desk makes the first contact with our guests by phone or email during the reservation process, greets guests face-to-face upon check-in, maintains a helpful and friendly relationship with guests throughout their stay, and says farewell upon check-out encouraging guests to spread the word!
Nearly all communications run through the front desk, which is what a majority of the job consists of … phone, email, face-to-face, walkie-talkie.
In addition to the above, our front desk also operates within the Doe Bay General Store selling groceries, merchandise, etc. Stocking and tidying shelves, as well as maintaining a clean and welcoming environment are also important facets of the job.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Perform all check-in and check-out tasks
Manage online and phone reservations
Inform customers about payment methods and verify their credit card data
Register guests collecting necessary information (like contact details and exact dates of their stay)
Welcome guests upon their arrival and assign rooms
Provide information about our hotel, available rooms, rates, and amenities
Respond to clients’ complaints in a timely and professional manner
Liaise with our housekeeping staff to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy, and fully furnished to accommodate guests’ needs
In addition to the above, our front desk also operates within the Doe Bay General Store selling groceries, merchandise, etc
Stocking and tidying shelves, as well as maintaining a clean and welcoming environment are also important facets of the job.
Knowledge and Skills
Excellent organization & communication skills.
Ability to learn and put into practice company policies and procedures for routine tasks.
Ability to read and comprehend routine instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to give high priority to customer service.
Ability to solve problems with a minimum of supervision.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Strong arithmetic skills, required for handling financial transactions and balancing a cash drawer.
Must maintain a professional appearance and a Can-Do, positive attitude toward all guests and staff.
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
Must be people-oriented and able to work independently or with others as needed.
Must be detail-oriented.
Self-motivated.
Technical Skills
Key systems
Hotel Hospitality Front office system knowledge a plus
Must be able to easily and frequently change from one activity to another while operating a switchboard or computer keyboard
Point of Sale System experience a plus
Work experience as a Front Desk Agent, Receptionist, Customer Service Representative or similar role
Experience with hotel reservations software or an aptitude for learning new software programs
