    GENERAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must be able to work well with other employees, be able to learn quickly and handle pressure well
    • Must be flexible with schedule and available to work weekends and holidays 
    • Able to work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, environment
    • Outstanding guest relation skills
    • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Must be able to lift and carry 40 lbs.or more in certain positions

  • Experienced Ski Instructor

    Deer Valley Resort
    Park City

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Teach alpine skiing to Deer Valley guests of any age or ability zone.

    Eligible for the H-2B Visa.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Must have excellent guest service skills
    • Current PSIA/ASSI Alpine Certification Level 1, 2 or 3
    • Advanced skier able to ski Beginner to Expert terrain in variable conditions
    • Able to teach groups and private lessons to individuals and families
    • Able to lift and carry 40 pounds; stand/ski six to nine hours; perform bending, lifting and twisting movements
    • Able to work in variable weather and snow conditions
    • Willing to work weekends and holidays
    • Own/use alpine ski equipment; must pass boot/binding checks

    JOB DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Teach alpine skiing to students of any age or ability zone, using PSIA/AASI teaching methodology and following the safety codes of the mountain
    • Punctuality: must be in uniform, equipped and at the meeting location on time; must adhere to lesson times, lunch breaks, clinics and schedules of the Ski School
    • Plan, organize and implement appropriate ability zone plan for each ski lesson; conduct lesson in professional manner
    • Attend instructor meetings, training and performance reviews
    • Able to work with general supervision and make reasonable decisions based upon policies and procedures outlined in company manuals; adhere to Ski School and HR policies and procedures
    • Display professional conduct with parents, children and caregivers in all situations, some of which may be stressful; write daily progress cards for students and their parents
    • Perform other duties as assigned

  • Snowmaker Level I - Mountain Operations

    Deer Valley Resort
    Park City

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:  Maintain, move and set up snow guns and hoses for extensive snowmaking operation. Make rounds in vehicles and/or snowmobiles to monitor weather conditions during snowmaking.

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Must be safety conscious and have a mechanical aptitude
    • Heavy equipment experience preferred 
    • Understanding or development of snowmaking/removal objectives and techniques 
    • Receptive and responsive to instruction 
    • Dependable and able to work well with others 
    • Physically fit and a tolerance for working in extreme conditions
    • Competently and conscientiously perform the required equipment inspections and servicing and record results accurately and completely
    • Safe operation of snowmaking equipment and snowmobiles
    • Must be responsive to direction and instruction while training and performing assignments
    • Become familiar and competent with Deer Valley snowmaking equipment and techniques
    • Provide acceptable results while operating equipment on which one has been trained
    • Quickly and accurately report any problem with the product or equipment which arises
    • During an assignment
    • Assist co-workers with minor equipment repairs
    • Maintain the cleanliness of the equipment and facilities
    • Exhibit professional conduct and proper radio etiquette

  • Ski Patroller Level I

    Deer Valley Resort
    Park City

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:  To constantly monitor and evaluate Deer Valley Resort’s ski terrain with an emphasis on safety. To respond to guests medical needs in a professional manner. To be available for other on mountain emergencies i.e. avalanches, lift evacuation etc.

    SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Current OEC or EMT certification
    • Current CPR certification
    • Advanced skiing ability – able to transport a guest in a toboggan down any Deer Valley area in any snow condition
    • Ability to work effectively with other Ski Patrollers and all other Deer Valley Resort employees
    • Ability to maintain a positive attitude toward Deer Valley and its core values
    • Good physical conditioning with ability to consistently lift 50 lbs
    • Ability to write legibly and to professionally complete all Ski Patrol forms
    • Ability to learn basic knowledge of snow physics and explosives
    • Ability to operate a snowmobile

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Administer first aid in a professional and timely manner
    • Perform lift evacuations as needed
    • Perform skier safety education including speed control
    • Enforce the skier responsibility code
    • Conduct snow surveys and snow stability tests
    • Use explosives in snow stability tests
    • Mountain set up, tear down and maintenance.
    • Placement and maintenance of mountain signs rope lines and padding
    • Placement and maintenance of snow fences
    • Maintain ski runs by side slipping and/or shoveling
    • Crowd control at lift mazes day lodges and race venues
    • Pick up trash on the mountain
    • Retrieve items dropped from the lift
    • Assist guests looking for lost equipment
    • Check lift tickets
    • Maintain clean Ski Patrol workspace including emptying trash, vacuuming and cleaning windows

    LEVEL I:

    • First year / no experience, or limited experience
    • CPR + OEC certified,
    • Completed OEC Refresher
    • Completes training check-off sheet
    • Advanced skiing ability
    • Attends CME hours 2+
    • Positive attitude, supportive of company policies and procedures.

  • Lift Operator Level I

    Deer Valley Resort
    Park City

    PURPOSE OF POSITION:  Operate chairlifts in a safe and efficient manner, assisting guests to safely load and unload chairlift, check for proper lift tickets and support the Deer Valley 3 Circle Model.

    SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

    • Must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs. and do hard, physical labor
    • Must be able to communicate well with people
    • Must enjoy working with people and children
    • Must be dependable
    • Must be 18 yrs. old
    • Skiing ability preferred

    JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Be attentive at load and unload terminals
    • Engage guests at every opportunity
    • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
    • Work outside in winter conditions for long periods of time
    • Maintain a safe work area
    • Maintain an aesthetically pleasing work area
    • Perform expected amount of snow work. (Sweeps chairs, remove snow  from terminals)
    • Actively and efficiently organize lift lines and check guest’s lift tickets
    • Display respect for all employees at all times
    • Demonstrate a teamwork ethic
    • Be familiar with motor rooms and their operation
    • Know how to perform ladder evacuations
    • Take initiative to be self-directed
    • Complete all paperwork efficiently and legibly
    • Adhere to all skiing policies
    • Perform other duties as assigned
