Are you a night-owl and enjoy front desk? The night auditor is responsible for closing out each days transactions.

• Performs checks and balances for the front desk, restaurant, and/or store prescribed by the corporate accounting office staff to close out the day's business.
• Performs routine walk-through of lodge for security checks. 
• Is family with the property and all of its services, including dining room menu.
• Prepares audit on computer system; completes location daily sales figures.
• Knowledge of Night Audit and Hotel/Motel Accounting Procedures helpful; Accounting Procedures helpful; knowledge and use of computer equipment required.

Are you a local or living seasonally in Custer County and looking for a part-time position? 

We are looking for outgoing, friendly, dedicated individuals to drive chuckwagon participants to their dinner location. 

• Must be 18 or older. 
• Clean driving record. 
• Possess the skills to drive a truck and trailer. 
• Hours range from 3 p.m.-8:30 p.m.; based on seasonality. 
• Must be available to drive 4-5 nights per week!

• Carries dishes from dining room to kitchen; vice versa.

• Makes coffee and refills juice dispensers.

• Scrapes food from dirty dishes, pre-sprays, and washes by hand or through dishwashing machine.

• Sweeps and mops kitchen.
• Cleans and sanitizes equipment, worktables, walls, refrigerators, and cutting blocks. 
• Removes trash. 
• Steam cleans and hoses out garbage cans. 
• Transfers supplies and equipment between storage and work areas. Sets up banquet tables.
• Unloads trucks delivering supplies and food.

• Work either on the restaurant kitchen or banquet kitchen prep line.
• Properly demonstrate all company product preparation, weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipe to prepare all foods for line or banquet cooking. 
• Demonstrate different cooking techniques: baking, roasting, or steaming for meats, fish, vegetables, and other food.
• Washes, peels, cuts, and seed vegetables and fruits. 
• Cleans, cuts, and grinds meats, poultry, and seafood. 
• Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from work stations, stove and refrigerator. 
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain the general kitchen area, all cooking and kitchen equipment, walk-ins, coolers, and storerooms.

• Assists Chef in all phases of kitchen operation. 

The exterior of our various lodges, cabins, ranch houses, wedding and event venues must also have a well-groomed appearance. Lawn and Grounds is vital to maintaining our exteriors. 

• Cuts lawns, trims and edges around walks, flower beds, and walls.
• Prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth or remove damaged leaves, branches, or twigs. 
• Is self-motivated and works well independently. 
• Cleans grounds and removes litter. 
• Shovels snow from walks and driveways. 
• Plants grass, flowers, trees and shrubs as directed by General Manager. 
• Repairs fences, gates, walls and walks. 
• Sharpens tools such as weed cutters, edging tools, and shears. 
• Makes minor repairs on equipment such as lawn mower, spreader and snow removal equipment. 

All facilities at Custer State Park Resort must be in good working order to maintain exceptional guest satisfaction. 

• Knowledge of distribution systems for electric, water, gas, etc.
• Maintains and operates A/C, heating, refrigeration, and ventilation systems.
• Responds to 24-hour emergency needs and repairs; maintains buildings and grounds.
• Preforms lawn and grounds maintenance.
• Is responsible for tool maintenance and inventory. 
• Is responsible for departmental materials and supplies inventory. 
• Has a good working relationship with all other department heads in order to coordinate work demands and schedules.

• Receives training and performs duties in several departments such as dining room, kitchen, front desk, housekeeping, lounge, meeting rooms and banquet facilities. 
• Learns line and staff functions, operations, management viewpoints and company policies and practices that affect each phase of the resort business. 
• Works long hours; frequently moves from department to department as the need arises, to support fellow staff members in achieving company mission.

• Exceptional phone etiquette skills.
• Is proficient in computerized reservation accounting system
• High degree of efficiency and accuracy in making and changing reservations.
• Is able to answer or find the answer to a variety of inquiry regarding Custer State Park, its lodges, and park activities.  
• Strong listening and communication skills required. 

As a front desk agent, you are the first to meet guests. We are searching for individuals with excellent customer service and the ability to resolve problems arising from guest comments or concerns. 

• Is familiar with all lodges and activities in Custer State Park. 
• Works closely with central reservations staff to receive reservations and monitor changes. 
• Monitors the posting of payments and charges to ensure their accuracy and completeness. 
• Works on a continual basis with housekeeping and maintenance departments regarding current status of available rooms/cabins. 
• Answers inquiries pertaining to resort policies and services, and park activities. 
• Able to accurately handle cash and credit cards; operates office equipment; cleans, stocks and inventories; efficiently handles telephone system.

Within Custer State Park Resort, we have many gift stores that need outgoing, personable associates.

• Is thoroughly familiar with the property and all of its services. 
• Is thoroughly familiar with grocery and gift store items.
• Verifies minimum legal age of any patron attempting to buy alcoholic beverages or tobacco products. 
• Operates cash register and credit card machines. 
• Stocks and inventories.
• Keeps store clean and uncluttered. 

Store Manager's engage in selling Custer State Park specific lines of merchandise and groceries. Store Manager's directly supervise 4-12 associates and perform the following duties:

• Trains personnel on personal presentation, suggestive selling techniques, and in-depth knowledge of entire inventory.
• Responsibilities include planning, assigning and directing work. Appraising store associate's performance; rewarding and disciplining.
• Addresses complaints and resolves problems.  
• Reports, requests, and reorders inventory under our guidelines. 
• Ensures compliance of associates with established securities, sales and recordkeeping procedures and practices.
• Steps in to perform work of subordinates when needed. 
• Answers customer complaints or inquires. 
• Handles cash and change needs. Completes daily reports and deposits. 
• Is responsible for receiving merchandise, and the accuracy of reports and invoices. 
• Requires one year certificate from college or technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

• Helps prepare all to-go food including fruit cups, pizzas, chili, and rotating specials, etc. 
• Keeps kitchen clean and stocked; ready to go for the next business day.
