Seasonal staff needed to support our teaching and research mission in the Mojave Desert

Currently recruiting for the season from September 21st, 2026 to June 1st, 2027.

Established in 1976, the Desert Studies Center is a 1,200-acre satellite campus of California State University that provides logistical support and infrastructure for research, teaching, and outreach about California’s deserts.

In the central Mojave Desert in the Mojave National Preserve, two hours east of Las Vegas. On the shore of Soda Dry Lake at the terminus of the Mojave River, the Center provides access to alkali salt flats, creosotebush lowlands, Joshua tree forests, rocky slopes, lava flows, and sand dunes.
