Outdoor Educator
Are you passionate about the outdoors and believe the best classroom has no walls? Join the team at Circle F Dude Ranch and help inspire thousands of students through hands-on learning, adventure, and unforgettable experiences.
Circle F Dude Ranch is a year-round outdoor education and adventure destination located on 500 beautiful acres in Central Florida. From August through May, we welcome elementary, middle, and high school students from across the state for multi-day educational programs that combine environmental education, outdoor adventure, teamwork, and personal growth.
As an Outdoor Educator, you will lead groups of students through engaging, experiential learning programs while creating a safe, positive, and inclusive environment. Every day is different. You may spend the morning teaching students about Florida's ecosystems and wildlife, lead team-building challenges in the afternoon, and finish the day facilitating an evening campfire program.
Our program areas include:
Environmental Education
Team Building & Initiative Games
Archery
Alpine Tower & Giant Swing
Rockwall & Ziplines
Odyssey High Ropes Course
Wilderness Skills
Horseback Riding (training provided)
Waterfront Activities
Evening Programs and Campfires
You will become part of a close-knit, year-round team of 25 full-time staff members, including six dedicated Outdoor Educators who work together to deliver exceptional experiences for every group that visits the Ranch. We believe in teamwork, supporting one another, and creating an environment where both our guests and staff can grow.
As a guest-focused facility, every member of our team plays an important role in creating an outstanding experience for the groups who visit the Ranch. Outdoor Educators are expected to contribute beyond program delivery by helping maintain a clean, welcoming, and well-presented property. Responsibilities may include keeping activity areas organized, collecting trash throughout the Ranch, assisting with cabin cleaning and turnover between guest groups, and helping ensure our facilities are ready for the next group arrival. We take pride in our Ranch, and every team member plays a part in maintaining the high standards our guests expect.
No previous outdoor education experience? That's okay! We provide comprehensive training to help you build the knowledge, technical skills, and confidence needed to lead programs safely and successfully. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with strong communication skills, a positive attitude, adaptability, and a willingness to learn.
This is a full-time residential position operating primarily from August through Decemeber for the fall/winter season and then from January through to May for the Spring Season. Staff receive 8 days off each month, allowing time to relax, explore Florida, and enjoy the many attractions and natural spaces nearby.
Our location offers the perfect balance of outdoor living and easy access to Florida adventures. Circle F Dude Ranch is located just one hour from Walt Disney World and Orlando, 90 minutes from Tampa, and within easy reach of both Florida's Gulf and Atlantic coasts.
Housing is provided as part of your employment. Each staff member has their own private bedroom and private bathroom within shared staff housing. Common spaces, including kitchens and living areas, are shared with fellow team members, creating a welcoming community while still providing personal space and privacy.
Meals are provided whenever our dining hall is operating for guest groups.
If you are looking for more than just a job—if you want to inspire young people, develop leadership skills, build lifelong friendships, and spend your days working outdoors—we would love to welcome you to the Circle F Dude Ranch team.
