Live the dream, two hundred miles off-grid! You could spend your summer creating unforgettable experiences for adventurous guests at Chulitna Lodge — a beautiful, historic wilderness retreat nestled in Alaska's Lake Clark National Park.
We are looking for a friendly Housekeeper to maintain cleanliness and order in our guest cabins, bathhouses, storage areas, and laundry facilities.
Chulitna Lodge has 3 concurrent missions:
1. Provide excellent adventure vacations in as close to a 'bush luxury' format as possible for its clients.
2. Host an Artist-in-Residence program allowing artists the time, space, clarity, and facilities to make, learn, and grow.
3. Create a summer home for the wonderful and dedicated staff (who are mostly artists & creatives)
Responsibilities for this position include:
Maintaining order of and being available to retrieve from our storage areas as needed, where we keep stock of supplies, bedding, and equipment
Daily cleanings of two bathhouses and daily tidying of guest cabins
Daily tidying of Main Lodge communal spaces, with weekly deep-cleanings
Sanitizing high-touch surfaces multiple times per day
Cleaning, changing over & staging of cabins between Guests
Communicating between Guests, Artists, and other staff to ensure a comfortable stay
Laundry for Guest linens & bath towels
Laundry for kitchen towels, napkins & Main Lodge linens
Looking for someone adaptable and able to maintain a positive team attitude!
Timeframe:
Starting immediately and ending around October 3, 2026
Compensation:
$1500/month (2nd summer offers up to 25% raise, 3rd offers matching 401k-type program), partial months prorated
All living expenses are covered (note that in our remote area, the average cost for living expenses (fuel, electricity, water, internet, groceries, etc) comes to $2000/person/month)
Travel stipend to get to/from Anchorage from home city - round-trip ($800)
Incredible bush flight from Anchorage to Lake Clark ($500 value)
Regular tips from Guests
Note: There is nothing to spend money on up here at Chulitna, and we cover all your expenses throughout the summer, which means you go home with a stack of cash!

- Staff at Chulitna Lodge are housed in a private yurt or small cabin, each fit with lights & electricity. The luxury bathhouses are shared with guests. All meals, snacks etc are provided. Chef prepares lunch and dinner daily; the kitchen and pantries are also available for personal use.
