Cascade Lodge on Lake Superior is looking for a positive, dependable, and hardworking person to join our restaurant team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, likes a fast-paced environment, and wants the chance to earn great tips while working mostly (AM) daytime hours.

Cascade Restaurant & Pub is a casual, fast-paced, roadhouse-style restaurant. Guests place their orders at the counter, and our servers take care of the rest; delivering beverages and food, helping guests, tending bar, running food, and keeping service moving smoothly.

Typical shift: 7:30 AM–3:00 PM
Tips: Server tips are pooled by shift, typically $100–$150 in tips per shift per server, paid out in cash at the end of every shift. 

We are happy to train the right person. Previous serving experience is helpful, but not required. If you have worked in a customer-facing position such as a barista, busser, cashier, host, or similar role, we encourage you to apply. Most shifts have 2–3 servers working together and rotating between taking orders, bartending, and running food. During slower winter weekdays, one AM server may run the shift, while weekends typically have two AM servers.

Affordable Employee Housing

Shared employee housing is available for $14 per day, free shift meal on every shift, and 50% off regular food menu anytime.

Housing includes shared kitchens, bathrooms, and laundry facilities. Bedrooms are generally shared, although private rooms may be available depending on availability.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly, courteously, and with a positive attitude.

• Present menus, explain our hybrid service style (counter ordering with table service), answer questions, and make recommendations on food, beverages, and daily specials.

• Rotate between shift roles:

  • Order-taking: Accurately record food and beverage orders, enter them into the POS system, handle guest payments, and check in regularly for satisfaction.

  • Bartending: Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages while following responsible alcohol service procedures. Check in regularly with guests to ensure satisfaction.

  • Food running: Prepare sides, condiments, desserts, and garnishes; deliver food and drinks to tables promptly and accurately, check in regularly for satisfaction.

• Collaborate closely with fellow servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders to maintain smooth team operations.

• Balance cash/credit transactions at the end of shifts and perform end of day reporting.

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary dining and service area, including bussing, dishwashing assistance, and table resets.

• Perform opening, side work, and closing duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time.

• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and safely carry trays, plates, and beverages.

• Comfortable working in a dynamic, high-volume environment.
