Job Title: Resort Worker
Department: Rooms Division/Food & Beverage
Reports To: Lodge Management and Restaurant Management
Job Summary:
The Resort Worker is a dual-role position responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in guest rooms and common areas of the lodge, as well as assisting in the daily operations of the lodge’s restaurant. This position on an average week has 4-5 housekeeping shifts and 2-4 restaurant shifts in dishwashing/bussing capacity.
Key Responsibilities:
Housekeeping:
Clean and sanitize guest rooms, bathrooms, and common areas to the expected standards.
Clean and sanitize employee housing units for new arrivals, as assigned.
Change bed linens, replace towels, and restock guest room amenities.
Perform general cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and garbage/recycling disposal.
Handle, stock, dilute, and store common housekeeping cleaning chemicals.
Report any maintenance issues or damages to the maintenance team.
Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are stored securely and properly maintained.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while using cleaning products and equipment.
Assist with laundry duties as needed, including stocking linens, putting away linen deliveries, and washing, drying, and folding linens when necessary.
Snow shoveling decks and walkways.
Restaurant:
Clear tables during meal services, wipe tables clean and set tables and chairs.
Wash, polish, and restock restaurant glassware and silverware.
Perform dishwashing and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen and dining areas.
Handle, stock, and use common restaurant cleaning chemicals.
Clean, sweep, and mop kitchen area floors, walls, sinks, and surfaces.
Clean and restock restrooms at the end of shift.
Follow all food safety and hygiene regulations.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in housekeeping or restaurant service is a plus, but not required.
Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Willingness to work flexible hours and split shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment.
Position requires standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods.
May involve exposure to cleaning chemicals and kitchen equipment.
Must be comfortable occasionally working outside in inclement weather, including snow and rain.
