Fully supported by generous donors, campers entering 5-12th grade attend 10 day sessions and participate in social, recreational, and learning opportunities in a culture of joy and acceptance - AT NO COST! We have been building mental, emotional, social, and physical health since 1974

Ideal Candidate

Room and Board
Room and board are provided to all Camp Leaders and an optional perk for our Food Service staff members. Cabins are shared living spaces with plumbing and electricity included. In addition to housing, expect three nutritious meals a day!

Getting Here and Getting Around
Access to a personal vehicle is a plus, but there are plenty of other options to help you get to Camp! Generous travel stipends (up to $500) can be negotiated for those traveling from afar. We are located an hour and 15 minutes from the Portland International Airport and can help arrange for transportation to and from the airport with advanced notice.
For Fun
Our location is perfect for anyone interested in spending time outdoors! Our camp sits in the foothills of the White Mountains and offers easy access to some of the best hiking in New England. There are plenty of other day trip options to take advantage of during your ample time off in between sessions- raft/float down the Saco River, eat some great food in Portland, ME just an hour away, or explore the countless other lakes in the area.

Lead Daily Activities that strengthen mental, emotional, and social health of campers in grades 5-12 through experiential learning, character development, and relationship building.
Work in harmony and cooperation with the camp community, integrating the mission, goals, and values into camp culture.
Work in collaboration with the Support Team to provide care that focuses on emotional regulation and the well-being of campers.
Ensure the physical, mental, emotional, and social health and well-being of assigned cabins by directly engaging with individuals and group daily.
Lead the delivery of activities, providing compassionate leadership and support to Traditional, Bridge, and/or Apprentice Programs. Collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate support tools, techniques, discussions, and activities. Perform Leader of the Day as assigned.
Work in collaboration with the Support Team to provide Camper Care that focuses on the well-being of campers and their integration into cabin life and all activities while following and maintaining limits for campers using the CSC collaborative behavior management model emphasizing character development and strengths-based assets.
Show flexibility, adaptability, and compassion; provide support to fellow team members, perform assignments as needed, maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
At least 18 years of age with knowledge, experience, and certifications as required for specific area.
Able to live and work in a fast-paced environment with limited privacy, personal space, or down time.
Able to build positive relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds and personalities.
Able to recognize emotional stressors and implement self-care strategies appropriate for the setting.

Camp Leader

Schedule: CSC has four, 10-day sessions each summer, running from June 21 through August 12. Priority will be given to applicants able to work the full summer. All staff must be available June 11 - June 19 for staff training.
Accommodations: Live in a camper cabin with plumbing and electricity; camp provides 3 nutritious meals per day.
Wages: Base salaries start at $3000/season (9 weeks), but can increase based on experience/education/skillset. This position is also eligible for the contract completion bonus (up to $600) for those choosing to work 3+ sessions.
Support Specialist
Position Summary
Create a culture of joy and acceptance by building relationships and programs that strengthen and support the physical, mental, emotional, and social well-being of campers and staff.
Responsibilities
Basic Qualifications
Nanny
Provide supervision and care to one-year old child while parents are on-duty at camp. Responsible for feeding, safety, entertainment of child. Parents will live on-site working as Camp Leadership Team members.

Science and Nature Specialist
Lead science and nature programming including hiking, animal identification activities, and wilderness living skills. Collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate curriculum, supervise and train staff, and schedule session activities. Live and work with a cabin family.
Previous camp/youth development experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate.

Creative Arts Specialist
Lead the delivery of our Creative Arts programs, including: Arts & Crafts, Pottery, Theater & Dance, and more. Help campers develop and grow while exploring their creativity (and your own!). Qualified candidates will have an interest in creating and teaching art, the ability to communicate instructions clearly and patiently, and the capability to keep work stations clean and organized.
Through this position, you will collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate curriculum, supervise and train staff, and schedule session activities. Live and work with a cabin family.
*There is some flexibility in scheduling for this position, but preferred applicants will be available for all 4 camp sessions in addition to staff training (9 weeks total)
Waterfront Specialist
Lead the delivery of waterfront activities including swim lessons, recreational swim, kayaking, canoeing, and paddleboarding, Collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate curriculum, supervise and train staff, and schedule session activities. Live and work with a cabin family.
Previous lifeguard experience required.
Current Lifeguarding Certification required, WSI preferred. Lifeguard Certification course offered at beginning of staff training for those in need of re-certification.

Leadership Development Specialist
Lead the delivery of activities to guide camper development as they grow into staff roles, collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate curriculum, supervise and train staff, and schedule session activities. Live and work with a cabin family.
Previous camp or equivalent youth development experience required.

Ropes Course Specialist
Lead team building days and facilitate low initiatives/high elements on our ropes course. Collaborate with Leadership Team to integrate curriculum, supervise and train staff, and schedule session activities. Live and work with a cabin family.
Previous camp/youth development experience desired, but willing to train the right candidate in the delivery of ropes course elements! Four-day ropes course training offered at beginning of staff training.
