The Kitchen Assistant supports all aspects of kitchen operation by preparing meals according to the menu and the food service guidelines. This position requires independent and team-oriented work. While this is an entry level position there is lots of room for growth. The position will start with assisting the kitchen manager preparing meals, and will eventually move to leading meals independently. This is a great position for someone looking to develop a career in the culinary arts because there are opportunities to learn all parts of a running a kitchen, and plenty of room for leadership and creativity. There's a lot more information about who we are and what we do on our website but here are some important things to note: 

• Camp Stevens provides full food and lodging benefit: Meals in the dining hall and full access to the camp pantry, fridge, coffee, tea, paper goods, housewares, etc. Our food is local, garden-grown, and mostly organic... also it's delicious.

• You'll have your own room in a shared home with other staff.

• Paid training includes First Aid/CPR, Food Handlers Certificate, Conflict Resolution, Restorative Justice, Diversity/Equity/Inclusion. Other training opportunities: Archery, Lifeguarding, Youth Development, Program Development, etc.

• We are affiliated with the Episcopal Church - don't let that stop you! There is no faith requirement to work at Camp Stevens and the Episcopal Church is rad (google it!). You are welcome here as your whole self. 

• 18+ Required, 21+ with clean driving record preferred

• Rolling start date - Hoping to start one new person in June/July, and another in August.
