ACTIVELY HIRING FOR SAILING AND LIFEGUARDS! Camp Modin, a 105-year-old premier, co-ed residential camp is looking for dynamic and dedicated individuals to make a difference in the lives of children. Located on a private, unspoiled lake in Maine, our friendly atmosphere provides a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and grow. Modin has over 60 activities!

Situated in the pristine wilderness of Maine’s beautiful Belgrade Lakes region, Camp Modin is one of the oldest private camps in New England. Modin has over 60 athletic, waterfront, creative arts, and pioneering activities. Take advantage of our top-notch facilities while meeting new and exciting people. Our community consists of 400 campers who enjoy a community-oriented environment in which they can learn, grow and develop lifelong friendships. You will go to the beach and watch movies under the stars. You will sing songs around a roaring campfire and you will eat tons of ice cream and pizza! In short, you will have an opportunity to do everything your campers do and more.

Room and Board
Camp Modin provides free room, board, meals, and laundry for all of our staff for the entire summer
Employee Perks
All of our staff have access to our gym/fitness center, our game room, and our lounge in the evenings! We also provide transportation on staff days off so that they can explore the beautiful state of Maine and all the region has to offer. Staff also get regular evenings off each week.
Our staff also get to partake in fun and exciting activities daily and will get to go on trips to the movies, bowling, mini-golf, etc. free of charge! Come to Modin for the best summer of your life!
Getting Here and Getting Around
We assist with transportation to and from camp at the beginning and end of the summer. Staff are welcomed to bring cars if they have them, but we also provide transportation on staff days off.

Lifeguard

CANDIDATES WITH LIFEGUARDING EXPERIENCE OR CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED
A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake and our expansive aqua park complete with slides, water trampolines, climbing structures, a water swing, a hamster wheel, and more.
Our Waterfront Specialists (Lifeguards) are responsible for running swim instruction lessons for campers ages 7-12. You would be in charge of upholding our safety standards and teaching campers how to swim, while working on a team of 10-16 other instructors. Our Waterfront Specialists also lifeguard and run our aqua park. You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:

Assistant Office Manager
We are seeking an organized, dependable Assistant Office Manager to support the daily operations of our busy summer camp office in Maine. Highly competitive salary dependent on experience!
DATES: JUNE 8th – AUGUST 14th
This is a fast-paced, dynamic environment supporting a large camp community. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, calm under pressure, and takes pride in organization, communication, and teamwork. We welcome local candidates who can commute daily, and we are also open to candidates who prefer to live on camp and are comfortable with shared housing. This role works six days per week, 9:30 AM – 6:00 PM.

We have over 100 watercraft on camp including Lasers, Sunfish, Hunters, Hobie Cats, pedal boats, and more. Our Sailing specialists bring their own games, lessons, and experiences to camp and take an active role in shaping the program. What sets Modin apart is our tight-knit community, our facilities, and the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake. Our breathtaking facilities include over one hundred watercraft, a state-of-the-art fitness facility, a gymnastics gym, a dance studio, three soccer fields, a new baseball facility, a trapeze, a street hockey rink, brand new tennis and pickleball courts, and more!
Our Pioneering Specialists are responsible for our Outdoor Pursuits and Adventures program. This program includes our Climbing Wall, our new High and Low Ropes courses, our Zipline, our Canoeing, Kayaking, and Stand-Up Paddleboarding program, and our overnight camping trips. As a Pioneering Specialist, you would be responsible for running overnight camping trips at our pioneering village, as well as leading hikes and other adventures (examples include boating trips, repelling trips, etc). A little bit about the job: As a counselor, you would be working and living in a cabin with a group of children (our kids range from 7-16 years) and participating in activities, sports, field trips, etc. What sets Modin apart is the magnificent waterfront nestled on the shores of Salmon Lake and as a Waterski instructor, you would work on our four brand-new 2024 tournament Malibu boats.
Our Waterski Specialists are responsible for driving our boats and teaching kids how to Waterski, Wakeboard, Kneeboard, Tube, and Wake Surf. You would be in charge of upholding our safety standards and allowing the kids to experience a variety of watersports, while working on a team of 10-16 other instructors. You would also get involved with the campers in the bunks at meal times, in the evenings, and on trips. Some activity areas include:
