Do you want to spend a paid summer in Alaska? Join us at Camp K for fun at one of Alaska's most beautiful sleep away camps in Cooper Landing. Just two hours South of Anchorage, our camp is located on the beautiful Kenai Peninsula. No outdoor experience is required, just a love for camp! If you want to build an inclusive and loving community at our camp, this is a perfect job for you! Housing and meals are included for the entire season.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:
Program: Camp K is an ACA Accredited Summer Residential Youth Co-ed Camp.
Location: Camp K is located in Copper Landing, AK on Kenai Lake.
Dates: All Staff training begins mid-May. Camp opens to youth in early June and runs through July.
Time: Camp K offers 5 day sessions throughout the summer.
Staff Shifts: Camp K staff reside on camp premises during all camp sessions. There is personal time between sessions to enjoy the beautiful Alaska Summer.
Activities: While at Camp K youth are provided hiking, boating activities, outdoor games, creative arts, target sports, outdoor living skills and team building.
POSITION SUMMARY: LIFEGUARD COUNSELOR ~ $458/week
The Lifeguard Counselor plays a vital role in ensuring the safety, growth, and positive experience of all campers at Camp K. This position combines traditional counselor responsibilities with specialized duties in aquatic safety and instruction.
As a cabin counselor, you’ll provide 24-hour supervision and guidance for a group of campers, working closely with other counselors to lead and support a wide range of camp activities. As a lifeguard, you’ll help lead, teach, and supervise both campers and staff during swimming, boating, and other waterfront activities, ensuring a safe and fun environment for all participants.
This is a live-on-site summer position, offering the opportunity to be fully immersed in the camp community while working in the stunning setting of Chugach National Forest.
Through your leadership, you’ll help bring Camp Fire Alaska’s Promise to life, giving youth the opportunity to find their spark, lift their voice, and discover who they are.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be eighteen (18) years of age, is required to maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting agency.
A Current Lifeguard Certification with CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider is required by start of season.

Wilderness First Aid certification or ability to attend a certification course once hired, required (WFA will be offered during pre-camp training through Camp Fire.)
Prior experience working with youth is preferred.
POSITION SUMMARY: KITCHEN ASSISTANT ~ $14.50/hour
The Kitchen Assistant plays an important role in supporting the Kitchen Manager and ensuring that Camp K’s youth-focused Food Service Program delivers nutritious, delicious meals in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment. This position contributes directly to a high-quality camp experience for campers, families, and visitors alike.
As a Kitchen Assistant, you’ll help prepare meals in accordance with Camp K guidelines, assist with kitchen inventory and food storage, maintain sanitation and safety standards, and help care for kitchen equipment and facilities. You’ll work collaboratively with the kitchen and camp staff to ensure smooth operations and an enjoyable dining experience for everyone.
Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication and teamwork skills, respect for diversity, and a positive attitude when engaging with youth and peers. You’ll also serve as a role model, promoting inclusivity, responsibility, and the spirit of community that makes Camp K special.
You'll have a great opportunity to be a positive role model for the campers while living on Camp K in the Chugach National Forest with everyday opportunities to be off the grid, experience wildlife, and take in the epic beauty right outside your cabin door!
QUALIFICATIONS:

Ability to acquire and maintain an Alaska Food Worker Card is required.
Current Adult/Pediatric CPR, AED & First Aid Certification from a nationally recognized provider, is required.
