The Biscayne National Park Institute (BNPI), the official educational partner of Biscayne National Park, is seeking a professional, energetic, and safety-focused Boat Captain to join our team. This position begins as part-time with the potential to grow into a full-time role for the right candidate.

Located just south of Miami, Biscayne National Park protects 173,000 acres of crystal-clear waters, coral reefs, mangrove forests, islands, and marine wildlife. More than 95% of the park is underwater, making boats the primary way visitors experience this remarkable ecosystem. BNPI connects visitors to the park through educational eco-adventures including snorkeling trips, island visits, heritage cruises, paddling excursions, and sailing experiences. • Work closely with naturalists and guides to provide exceptional visitor experiences.

  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

  • Comfortable speaking to groups and interacting with visitors from around the world.

  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and seasonal schedules.

  • Knowledge of Biscayne Bay, South Florida waters, snorkeling operations, or eco-tourism is preferred but not required.

Why Work With Us?

This is more than a captain's job. Our captains help visitors experience a national park that most people never see from shore. Visitors consistently praise our crews for their professionalism, knowledge, enthusiasm, and ability to create unforgettable experiences on the water.

As part of the BNPI team, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Work in one of America's most unique national parks.

  • Operate a variety of educational and eco-tour vessels.
