The Role
We are seeking a live-in Innkeeper to join our team year-round. This is a unique position for someone who is highly responsible, self-directed, and takes pride in caring for both people and property.
The Innkeeper serves as the overnight presence and emergency contact for guests, ensuring safety, comfort, and continuity of operations outside of regular business hours. This role blends elements of hospitality, property management, and caretaking.
You will be entrusted with the stewardship of the Inn—maintaining its systems, monitoring the property, and being available to assist guests whenever needed, regardless of the time of day or night.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary overnight contact for guests and respond promptly to any needs or emergencies
Perform nightly checks of buildings, grounds, and amenities to ensure safety and proper function
Open and close amenities (such as pool, common areas, etc.) as required
Develop a working knowledge of all Inn systems and infrastructure (including fire alarm, mechanical systems, utilities, etc.)
Identify and communicate maintenance or operational issues to management in a timely manner
Assist in maintaining the overall appearance and upkeep of the property
Support day-to-day operations as needed based on skill set (hospitality, maintenance, groundskeeping, etc.)
This role is dynamic and responsibilities are not exhaustive; duties may evolve based on the needs of the property.
Who You Are
Highly reliable, responsible, and self-motivated
Comfortable living on-site and being on-call overnight
Calm, resourceful, and capable of handling unexpected situations independently
Respectful of the property, environment, and guest experience at all times
Professional and discreet, with strong personal boundaries (this is not a role suited for hosting gatherings or parties)
Organized, observant, and proactive
Preferred Skills (Not Required, But Valued)
There is the opportunity to also join our team in an hourly role to increase your overall compensation! We are especially interested in candidates who bring additional hands-on skills, such as:
General maintenance or handyman experience
Groundskeeping or gardening
Housekeeping
Cooking or kitchen experience
Restaurant service or bartending
Hospitality or hotel operations
Lifestyle & Opportunity
This position offers a rare opportunity to live and work in Catskill Park, just minutes from Livingston Manor—a vibrant small town known for its food, culture, and access to the outdoors.
Whether you enjoy fly fishing, hiking, snowshoeing, or simply the quiet of the mountains, this role is ideal for someone looking to immerse themselves in a beautiful, natural setting while contributing meaningfully to a special property.
Important Considerations
This is a live-in, year-round position
The Innkeeper must be available overnight to respond to guest needs or emergencies
Candidates must demonstrate a high level of trustworthiness and respect for the property and surrounding environment
Why This Role?
For the right person, this is more than a job—it’s a lifestyle. You’ll be part of a small, dedicated team and play an essential role in maintaining a property that values quality, care, and connection to place.
