B Bar Ranch

Looking for variety in your work at a special place where both co-workers and guests make for a great experience?

While once a dude ranch and hunting lodge, today B Bar Ranch welcomes a wide range of guests with it's primary primary focus on health and wellness retreats, with a few select family gatherings and environmental and human rights non-profit groups annual board and staff retreats.

B Bar Ranch near Emigrant, MT, is nestled among the 10,000-foot peaks of the Gallatin mountain range in the Tom Miner Basin, which sweeps from Yellowstone National Park’s northern boundary to intersect with Montana’s fabled Paradise Valley. A wildlife mecca, we share our landscape with elk, deer, moose, grizzly and black bears, big horn sheep and mountain goats to name a few.

About B Bar Ranch

The ranch’s nine thousand acres of open meadows, forested hillsides, riparian areas and mountainous wildlands provide excellent habitat for the region’s renowned wildlife species, including grizzly and black bears, elk and moose, wolves and coyotes, and countless varieties of birdlife. The ranch is a place of spectacular beauty, and committed to protecting its unique and extraordinary landscape.

A working ranch since 1906, the B Bar today provides summer range for the ranch's herd of Ancient White Park Cattle (from which organic, grass-finished beef is sold), irrigates two large pastures, puts up hay each year and maintains an intensively-developed landscape at ranch headquarters.

The guest facilities accommodate up to 40 guests and includes a rambling lodge with a dining room, large living room, and four suites plus an additional six cabins overlooking a pond with spectacular views to mountains and the valley beyond.

While primarily hosting group guests, we also offer three vacation rentals to individuals and families.

Please keep in mind that because we are a small operation, we frequently ask employees, both seasonal and year-round to perform jobs other than the job for which s/he was hired.

The Employee Experience

B Bar Ranch is surrounded by majestic beauty.  Great hiking and fishing opportunities as well as a well designed disc golf course.  The perfect environment for outdoor enthusiasts.

Associates work together to enhance the guest experience.  We at B Bar Ranch practice our core values in all of our interactions, not only with guests but with each other.

Especially for those wellness and ecologically minded folks, the groups we host provide for great networking opportunities.

Unlike most seasonal operations, our guests are typically here for four or more nights and employees have an opportunity to get to know our guests.  We are very fortunate that the guests we hosts are pleasant, respectful and very appreciative of the staff and their time on the ranch.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for applicants who are hard working, self- motivated, flexible, ecology minded, enjoy visiting with our guests and team oriented. Employees who best fit these jobs recognize that they are coming here foremost to work and then for their own personal enjoyment. While some of the work activities are interesting and offer learning opportunities, the bulk are less glamorous but equally important. We expect much from our employees and in return treat them well and hope that they leave having had an optimal summer experience.

Room and Board

We provide quality housing, at no cost, for our seasonal employees. These buildings are located on the ranch, with most being a short walk from work.  They are fully furnished and the largest majority is single bedrooms, with shared bathrooms, large living area, full kitchen/dining area and laundry facilities.

We do not have ranch wide employee dining facilities but some meals are provided.  Otherwise you are responsible for purchasing and preparing your own food.

Employee Perks

Employee housing is free and we provide mostly single rooms to all seasonal employees.

We offer a competitive salary and provide the opportunity to work and play in one of the most spectacular settings in the Northern Rockies.

If you enjoy the outdoors, the mountains, and the likelihood of seeing everything from grizzly bears to wolves to moose to elk herds that number in the hundreds all from your front and backyard, B Bar should be on the top of your list when deciding where to work this summer.

Getting Here and Getting Around

Because of our relatively remote location, we encourage employees to have their own vehicles. If this is not possible however, we are happy to arrange transport from the Bozeman, MT airport or bus station.

For Fun

Outdoor recreational opportunities abound on the ranch and the surrounding wildlands of Greater Yellowstone. The country begs to be explored by avid hikers. The fabled Yellowstone River (at the turnoff to the ranch) is a mecca for fly fishing. And Yellowstone Park with its myriad of wonders is just 40 minutes away.
