Live-In Summer Nanny – Private Island Lodge In Maine

Location: Attean Lake Lodge
Dates: Mid-June through August (flexible end date for school schedules)
Pay: $300/week + room & board

The Experience

Spend your summer living on a remote island in northern Maine, surrounded by lake views, hiking trails, and a tight-knit lodge community. This is not your typical nanny job — it’s part childcare, part adventure.

You’ll be living and working at a family-run, off-grid lodge where guests come to unplug. If you love nature, kids, and a slower pace of life, this could be your dream summer.

About the Role

We’re looking for a kind, responsible, and energetic nanny to help care for our four kids:

• Primary focus on:

  • 1-year-old (turns 1 in August)

  • 3-year-old

• Two older kids (7 & 9) are mostly independent but need supervision (especially around water)

Responsibilities

• Daily care for younger children (playtime, naps, meals)

• General supervision of all kids during the day

• Keeping kids safe around the lake (strong awareness around water is key)

• Light tidying of kid-related messes (toys, snacks, etc.)

• Occasionally joining family/lodge activities

What We’re Looking For

• Experience with young children (toddlers + babies)

• Comfortable around water (bonus if you're a strong swimmer)

• Positive, flexible, and self-motivated

• Someone who enjoys unplugging — limited WiFi/cell service
