CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary responsibility of the Summer Camp Overnight Supervisor will be to oversee and monitor clients and facilities from 10pm-6am. Generally, all campers are asleep during this time but may come out of their private rooms during sleeping hours and need some level of support. The overnight supervisor may accompany the client until they are ready to go back to bed. At times, this person may need to support camper hygiene, providing behavioral support when needed, and ensuring a safe camp environment.
The Overnight Supervisor will need to remain awake through the night to ensure all campers are accounted for. If campers are not awake, the staff will walk the hallway to monitor in-room disturbances while respecting camper privacy. Ascendigo’s Overnight Supervisor has an on-call backup from Ascendigo’s Residential Camp Manager should additional assistance be needed. During times when all campers are asleep, staff are asked to remain attentive but may enjoy leisure time at their computer, reading a book, or engaging in other activities that allow them to monitor campers and facilities.
