Alaska Travel Adventures is currently recruiting CDL drivers to fill full-time and part-time positions in Juneau, Ketchikan, Skagway, and Sitka.
DRIVER / GUIDE:
Safely operate 24-50 passenger vehicles on tour. Provide entertaining and informative narrative covering local natural and cultural history. This position requires a clean driving record, Commercial Drivers License with air brakes passenger endorsement, CPR/First Aid certification, and drug testing. Training provided! Class B Preferred. Transport guests to and from their tour sites while providing narration on the history of Southeast Alaska and Native culture.
As a Van Driver/Guide you will be responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner. Driver guides are responsible for maintaining regular communication with the front office dispatch and tour supervisors in the field. Dressed as a gold rush prospector, take your guests on an exciting journey through time, then assist as they try their luck!
As a Gold Panning Guide and Driver you will take guests on a short city tour while providing an entertaining narrative on the history of gold mining in Juneau. Once you arrive at the gold panning site you will instruct guests on methods of gold panning and assist as they try their luck at panning. You will need to curate your own costume that should be apparel consistent with gold prospectors in the late 1890’s.

As a Booth Sales Representative, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting in daily dock operations, inventory management, and transportation coordination. Professional verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure are required. Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather.

Meet guests pier side to provide introductory information on tours and guide guests to their designated transportation.
As a Dock Representative, you are the main point of contact with guests and the cruise line’s shore excursion managers. You will greet and dispatch tour guests on the cruise ship dock in a friendly and professional manner. You will manage daily tour counts, tour tickets and invoice settlement with the shore excursion managers. As the first people to greet our clients, it is vital that you make a great first impression. You will also work in the office managing administrative, customer service and scheduling duties. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, conflict resolution and communication skills are required for this position. Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather. Manage the dock team, oversee dock operations, and greet guests on the pier to guide guests to their designated tour.
As Dock Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing our customer service team and daily dock operations, inventory management, transportation coordination, tour count reconciliation, dispatching tour departures and overall operation of the dock office. Administrative duties include staff scheduling, processing financial documents, data entry and other duties as assigned. Professional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, ability to remain calm under pressure, computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook & Excel are required. As a Performer, you will use improv, comedy & music to bring to life re-creation of the Klondike Gold Rush trail camp that existed on the Liarsville property during the late1890’s. You will play the role of a gold rush “madam” or eager “prospector” in a vaudeville-style show. Performers are responsible for creating an engaging, lively and entertaining atmosphere for guests as they enjoy 3 distinct experiences at this outdoor venue; the Trail Camp, the Hippodrome Theatre & the Gold Panning Field. Outgoing, entertaining personality, prior acting experience and excellent communication skills required. Duties include but are not limited to:
As a musician and singer, you will entertain guests at the Salmon Bake during lunch and dinner service helping create a fun-filled family atmosphere. Prior experience and the ability to play at least 45-minute family friendly sets for the duration of each shift is required.

As a Gift Shop Cashier, you are responsible for the successful operation of a seasonal gift shop. You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, creating an inviting atmosphere, managing appropriate inventory practices, actively promoting sales to ensure the shop’s success, maintaining cleanliness in the shop, tasteful display of merchandise and providing additional assistance in the restaurant when needed.

Due to a close working relationship between our grill cooks and fish filleters, we prefer to have employees cross trained in both though you will be assigned tasks as needed. As you will notice, the hourly is the same for both jobs so it will not change based on daily tasks assigned. The general duties of each of the jobs is outlined below.
Salmon Grill Cook: Grill Salmon over open alder wood fire, and serve to customers. Assist fish fillet team when needed. Chop wood for the grill and campfire, set up and maintain cooking fire during meal, load grills with fish and assist cook with serving customers. Grill cooks should maintain great appearance standards and have great customer service standards. $16 per hour plus tips.
Fish Filleter: Fillet salmon to service standards and follow food safety standards. Position requires a self motivated individual who does not need constant management. Maintain a clean work environment, and assist around the restaurant as needed/when asked. $16 per hour plus tips.

As Bartender you are responsible for serving wine & beer, distributing food plates, balancing cash drawer, establishing a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring facilities & equipment are cleaned & maintained daily to a high standard.

Kitchen and Restaurant Prep:
Responsible for assisting cook in daily food preparations per recipes. Take directions from cook and maintain cleaning/sanitation of kitchen area and food storage areas. Complies with all food service regulations. May assist with other duties as requested. Such as washing dishes, cleaning restrooms and dining area, replenish salad bar and buffet during meals, and clear tables. Indoor(kitchen) will primarily work inside the kitchen assisting the cooks with food prep, etc. Assist team as needed/when asked.
Hiring for both Inside Prep(kitchen) and Outside Prep(bussers/servers and buffet stockers). Multiple shifts are available. $16 per hour, outside prep position is available for tips.

As a Hiking Guide you will lead clients on a nature hike in the Tongass National Forest. You may also serve as a deckhand on the vessel that transports clients to and from the hiking site. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First Aid certification required. If also working as a deckhand, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required. Duties will include but are not limited to:
Lead a convoy of Jeeps up rugged mountain trails to a spectacular alpine lake where you will guide guests in a native style canoe!
As a Jeep/Canoe guide you will lead clients on a backcountry Jeep tour on private logging roads and in 20 passenger canoes across Lake Harriet Hunt. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. You must be 21 years of age. Duties will include but are not limited to:
Perform all daily duties required of a guide and have additional responsibilities to ensure a safe, organized, and fun tour.
As a Lead Guide you perform all duties required of a guide and are responsible for ensuring employee compliance with company policies, supervising daily trip planning & operation and assisting the manager with all aspects of the operation. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Current CPR/First aid certification required. If also working as a deckhand, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random testing pool required.

Take photos of guests being guided through rapids on the Mendenhall river, providing them with lasting momentos of their tour
As Retail Sales/Photographer your primary responsibility is to capture high quality digital photos of guests rafting and selling those photos, retail merchandise and beverages at trip’s end. You should be a responsible, organized salesperson and able to work independently. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather.

Guide rafting tours on the Mendenhall River including class II-III rapids while sharing interesting relevant facts with guest!
As a river guide you will lead raft trips down approximately 5 miles of the Mendenhall River including a one-mile section of class II-III whitewater depending on water levels. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. You may also assist as a shuttle driver. Current CPR/First Aid certification required.

As a Sea Kayak Guide, you will lead clients on a kayak tour on the Pacific Ocean. You may also serve as a deckhand on the vessel that transports clients. As USCG Captain you shall perform all duties associated with the position of a USCG licensed captain and the operation of company vessels. You will supervise deckhands and set an extraordinary example of both a leader and teammate with other members of the ATA staff. Spend your summer on the water, educating excited guests about whales, Southeast Alaska and the Tongass National Forest.
As a deckhand you will assist customers in a friendly, professional manner as they board and disembark the vessel, secure and release the vessel from the dock, participate in mandatory safety drills, and maintain an emergency station billet. You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. Utilize oceanographic knowledge to determine the best route to lead guests on a Whale Watching tour in the Pacific Ocean!
You shall perform all duties associated with the position of USCG Licensed Captain and the operation of company vessels. You will supervise deckhands.
