    Van Driver Guide

    $17.00 / hour

    Transport guests to and from their tour sites while providing narration on the history of Southeast Alaska and Native culture.

    As a Van Driver/Guide you will be responsible for safe loading, transporting and unloading of guests in a friendly, courteous, professional manner.  Driver guides are responsible for maintaining regular communication with the front office dispatch and tour supervisors in the field.  Clean driving record, pre-employment drug testing and enrollment in a random drug testing program required.Duties will include but are not limited to:

    Dressed as a gold rush prospector, take your guests on an exciting journey through time, then assist as they try their luck!

    As a Gold Panning Guide and Driver you will take guests on a short city tour while providing an entertaining narrative on the history of gold mining in Juneau.  Once you arrive at the gold panning site you will instruct guests on methods of gold panning and assist as they try their luck at panning.  You will need to curate your own costume that should be apparel consistent with gold prospectors in the late 1890’s.
    Duties will include but are not limited to:

    • Accurate completion of Pre & Post trip vehicle inspections (DVIR)
    • Troubleshoot customer service issues in a calm & professional manner
    • Daily cleaning and minor maintenance of all equipment and facilities keeping them clean, orderly and in good repair

    Key Responsibilities

    • Recruit, hire, and build a top-tier team of 25+ commercial drivers
    • Conduct pre-season and ongoing CDL training focused on defensive driving, guest interaction, narration basics, and Alaska-specific road protocols
    • Create and manage daily driver schedules and dispatch operations
    • Perform ride-alongs, driver evaluations, and continuous coaching
    • Ensure full compliance with DOT/FMCSA regulations, hours-of-service, vehicle inspections, and record-keeping

    Diesel Bus Mechanic

    The Role Keep our fleet of modern tour buses, coaches, vans, and specialty vehicles running flawlessly all summer long. As our Diesel Mechanic, you’ll perform preventive maintenance, diagnose and repair mechanical/electrical issues, and ensure every vehicle is safe and ready for Alaska’s demanding roads and long daylight hours. This is a hands-on, critical role that directly supports our ability to deliver unforgettable guest experiences across Southeast Alaska.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on diesel buses and support vehicles
    • Diagnose and troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, HVAC, pneumatic, and electrical systems
    • Conduct DOT inspections and maintain accurate records
    • Repair or replace components including turbochargers, injectors, air compressors, differentials, and wheel seals
    • Perform welding and light fabrication when needed
    • Manage parts inventory and work with vendors for quick-turnaround orders
    • Assist with pre-season fleet prep and post-season winterization

    Requirements

    • Current ASE certification in Medium/Heavy Truck or Transit Bus (T-series preferred) OR OEM-specific training (Prevost, MCI, Cummins, Detroit, Allison, etc.)
    • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on diesel mechanic experience (tour/coach bus experience a big plus)

    Meet guests pier side to provide introductory information on tours and guide guests to their designated transportation.

    As a Dock Representative, you are the main point of contact with guests and the cruise line’s shore excursion managers. You will greet and dispatch tour guests on the cruise ship dock in a friendly and professional manner. You will manage daily tour counts, tour tickets and invoice settlement with the shore excursion managers. As the first people to greet our clients, it is vital that you make a great first impression. You will also work in the office managing administrative, customer service and scheduling duties. Attention to detail, excellent customer service, conflict resolution and communication skills are required for this position. Be prepared to work outdoors in inclement weather.     Manage the dock team, oversee dock operations, and greet guests on the pier to guide guests to their designated tour.

    As Dock Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing our customer service team and daily dock operations, inventory management, transportation coordination, tour count reconciliation, dispatching tour departures and overall operation of the dock office. Administrative duties include staff scheduling, processing financial documents, data entry and other duties as assigned.     As a Performer, you will use improv, comedy & music to bring to life re-creation of the Klondike Gold Rush trail camp that existed on the Liarsville property during the late1890’s.  You will play the role of a gold rush “madam” or eager “prospector” in a vaudeville-style show.  Performers are responsible for creating an engaging, lively and entertaining atmosphere for guests as they enjoy 3 distinct experiences at this outdoor venue; the Trail Camp, the Hippodrome Theatre & the Gold Panning Field.  Outgoing, entertaining personality, prior acting experience and excellent communication skills required. Duties include but are not limited to:

    As the Gift Shop Manager, you are responsible for the successful operation of a seasonal gift shop.  You will be responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, creating an inviting atmosphere, managing appropriate inventory practices and actively promoting sales to ensure the shop’s success.

    Due to a close working relationship between our grill cooks and fish filleters, we prefer to have employees cross trained in both though you will be assigned tasks as needed.  As you will notice, the hourly is the same for both jobs so it will not change based on daily tasks assigned.  The general duties of each of the jobs is outlined below.

    Salmon Grill Cook: Grill Salmon over open alder wood fire, and serve to customers. Assist fish fillet team when needed. Chop wood for the grill and campfire, set up and maintain cooking fire during meal, load grills with fish and assist cook with serving customers. Grill cooks should maintain great appearance standards and have great customer service standards. $16 per hour plus tips.

    As Retail Sales/Photographer your primary responsibility is to capture high quality digital photos of guests rafting and selling those photos, retail merchandise and beverages at trip’s end.  You should be a responsible, organized salesperson and able to work independently.  You should be in good physical condition and prepared to work in inclement weather. 

    Duties will include but are not limited to: 

    • Capturing high quality photographs of guests during their river trip
    • ​Downloading, printing and selling photos to guests
    • Processing credit card & cash sales, making deposits and maintaining accurate financial records of those transactions
    • Daily set up, ongoing resupply, break down, storage and cleaning of merchandise & retail area
