A Summer in Remote Wild Bristol Bay Alaska

Alaska Rainbow Lodge is a world renowned, sport fishing lodge located in Bristol Bay Alaska on the Kvichak River. We offer incredible, curated fishing adventures and all-inclusive luxury vacations for our guests. Our team prides itself on providing the very best hospitality for our clients.

We are seeking a detail-oriented, hospitable, and motivated assistant chef with excellent baking skills and a drive to provide superior quality in every aspect of fine dining food service operations at our luxury remote fishing lodge.

This full-time, seasonal position of BREAKFAST CHEF will be responsible for the organization and preparation of breakfast service, preparing baked goods, and assisting the Executive Chef at his or her direction. Creative additions or adjustments will be expected, especially based on product availability in our remote location.

Additional responsibilities include: working knowledge of inventory, auditing inventory for viability, enforcing health code requirements when necessary, and maintaining exceptional cleanliness of kitchen and food storage areas. We are located in an isolated area of Alaska. As such, this position requires excellent forecasting skills for ordering and preparation. 

Talented and professional applicants should possess the following:

• Minimum 2 years of kitchen experience

• Alaska Food Workers Card

• Willingness to work closely with Management and Staff to achieve a common goal

• Excellent teamwork skills

• Strong communication skills

• Ability to lift 50 lbs.

• Ability to remain standing and/or walking for up to 6 hours

• Ability to self-manage time

• At least 2 References

Why join our team? We are a family-run organization and we strive to create a family atmosphere for everyone. We go in as strangers, but end the season with lifelong friends. We are located along the Kvichak River, so the view is never disappointing. Typically, the schedule follows 6 days on, with one day off. Housing and meals are taken care of by us! Employees are housed in private cabins or rooms with shared community bathhouses.

Point of hire is King Salmon, AK. Unless other arrangements are made, employees should plan to arrive in King Salmon on the agreed upon date and depart similarly. Once in King Salmon, employees will be greeted at the airport by one of our pilots and flown approximately 30 miles to our remote lodge
