  • Cast Members

    Skagway, Alaska

    The Cast Member/Tour Guide position is the backbone of this company’s operation. The company takes great care to train and maintain a professional and knowledgeable cast of characters to perform the sites daily tasks and to execute the company’s tour products to all guests who visit Alaska 360’s Dredge Town. 

    This position reports to multiple supervisors and managers throughout the day and is expected to carry out the vision and represent the values of the company to the guests and to his/her colleagues. This team spirit allows for continuing growth and expansion of abilities as much is learned in a committed and supportive atmosphere of constant reflection and improvement. Cast Members assume a persona from the Klondike gold rush period and work in period costume.

     

    Required Abilities

    • Good interpersonal experience for daily interactions with individual guests and groups.
    • Experience in theater, education, musical talent, juggling, storytelling, and others a plus.
    • Versatility - fulfill multiple rotating positions and transition quickly between the site segments.
    • Flexibility - work in an ever- changing environment which is prone to change.
    • Commitment to being a tour guide and making the guests’ experience a top priority.
    • Ability to work as part of a team including up to 30 daily employees.

     

    Other responsibilities

    • Working as a costumed guide on property and off-property.
    • Working in retail areas of the site promoting tour segments and merchandise sales.
    • Dock representation including interaction with guests and cruise ship employees.
    • Working on a daily basis with multiple supervisors and managers according to the segment.
    • Executing reoccurring cleaning, entertaining, and other daily tasks.
    • Representing the company and its vision during work hours and off work hours.

  • Line Cook

    Skagway, Alaska

    The Line Cook position here at Dredge town is an entry level position requiring a positive work ethic. The ideal candidate adheres to kitchen guidelines, has the ability to learn and understand the importance of: personal hygiene, safe food handling practices, and basic culinary skills, is responsible for setting up food station, working station during restaurant hours, and breaking down station in efficient manner. Most importantly, the line cook assists in all aspects of operation, including dishwashing, food prep and other necessary job functions without much supervision.

     

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include

    • Prepares various foods under limited supervision for restaurant 
    • Follows prep sheets accurately and with a sense of urgency 
    • Reads, understands, and demonstrates teamwork and co-operation with other staff 
    • Completes tasks in a timely manner assigned by supervisor 
    • Assists in all aspects of operation through dishwashing, cleaning, re-stocking and any other tasks given by supervisor 
    • Works a food station during service, cooking for, conversing with and assisting guests
    • Communicate with guests and answer any questions they may have about available food products (e.g. food allergies) 

     

    Basic Job Requirements:

    • This job requires: the ability to lift 50 pounds, and sometimes more 
    • Standing or walking for up to six hours at a time 
    • The senses of taste and smell are used frequently 
    • The use of hands and arms for periods of up to six hours
    • Peripheral, color, and depth vision are essential.

     

    Preferred Experience & Skills: 

    • Basic previous culinary experience is not necessary. 
    • Ability to develop basic culinary skills is essential  
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure 
    • Prior cash handling and beer & wine experience a plus

  • Operations Supervisors

    Skagway, Alaska

    Operations Supervisor is a key leader supporting the AK360 Management team in planning and driving site/dock execution and performance while building consumer satisfaction through a focus on excellent customer service. When there is no manager onsite, the Operations Supervisor leads the site and aids the other supervisory staff. Ensures that operations run smoothly, and is responsible for ensuring the completion of all opening and closing procedures. Work effectively with gift shop, restaurant, and gold panning management, cast members, and other supervisors. Aid in supervising the site’s crew through assigning, directing and following up of all activities.

    Effectively communicate information both to and from site/dock management, cast members, and other needed departments. Assist customers with their questions, problems and complaints. Promote AK360 customer service culture. (Greet, offer help, and thank). Handle all customer relations issues in accordance with company policy and promote a positive experience for all AK360 customers. Support the planning, execute the displays (if needed), sign and complete inventory weekly.

    Interfaces with the cruise ships and communicates with cruise ship employees. Reconciles with cruise ships and finalizes statements directly with the Operations Manager and the Financial Manager. In charge of all transportation entering and departing the site. In charge of coordinating with independent vendors and the on-site admissions. Often acts as additional support for high volume times in the tour operation.

    Qualifications: Deductive reasoning ability, analytical skills and computer skills. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel). Open and effective communication skills, supervision, and influencing skills.

  • Sales Supervisors

    Skagway, Alaska

    The Sales Supervisor is charged with the daily operation of the site retail areas (snack bar, gift shop, and admissions). This position reports directly to the Sales Manager and supports the department and its operation. The Sales Supervisor oversees the daily tasks as executed by the cast and receives daily assignments from the department manager. This position is as a period costumed persona from the Klondike gold rush period, who is expected to interact with guests in a knowledgeable and entertaining way.

     

    Required Abilities

    • Good interpersonal experience for daily interactions with individual guests and groups.
    • Good organizational skills to ensure that all sales operations are executed at the highest standard.
    • Ability to run the snack bar (Snack Shack) with knowledge to operate multiple machines simultaneously.
    • Ability to run sales areas and operate registers as well as solve related issues.
    • Ability to supervise multiple cast members to operate the different retail areas and ensure a smooth daily operation while in the sales areas.
    • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).

     

    Job Description

    • Tasked with the daily Sales Department operations including food, beverage, and retail.
    • Charged with opening and closing the sales areas on a daily basis. This includes the cleanliness and maintenance of the sales area on an ongoing basis as well as supervising the end of the day cleaning of all facilities.
    • Operates and supervises the daily operation of the gold weighing, marketing of retail items, and sales transactions.

  • Front of House Restaurant Staff

    Front of House Employee Summary:

    • Does not require much supervision

    • Works a food & beverage station during service, conversing with and assisting guests
    • Up-sale desserts, beer, wine, and soda that is made in house Guest Service Duties:
    • Communicate with guests and answer any questions they may have about available food products (e.g. food allergies)
    • Ensuring a clean & safe environment for guests to consume their meals
