We currently have many housekeeper positions available and limited positions of the rest listed. 

Housekeeper/Laundry Attendant 

Recreation Department positions: Recreation Guide, Canyoneering Guide, Hiking Backpacking Guide, Wrangler Horse Guide, Desk Reservationist, Kids Camp Counselor.

Food and Beverage Department positions: Server, Host, Breakfast Attendant, Barrista, Catering Attendant, Busser, Runner, Line Cook, Prep Cook, Dishwasher, Catering Cook

Guest Service Positions: Front Desk Associate, Concierge, Night Auditor

Maintenance positions: Groundskeeper, Mechanic, General Maintenance 

  • Restaurant Cook

    Food and Beverage
    Mt. Carmel
    $11.00 / hour + tips

    The line cook is responsible for the day-to-day operation and food preparation for the restaurant and other food and beverage outlets as assigned. The line cook will be responsible for preparing items on all menus and ensuring safe and quality food items with excellent and prompt service to guests.

     

    • Ensure that all opening and closing duties are performed fully on a daily basis and that cleanliness and maintenance are maintained
    • Stock station with necessary items, ensure par levels are maintained, and keep stations clean and organized
    • Prep all meal and line items for meal period
    • Help to prepare employee meals as needed
    • Provide highest quality and consistent cooking skills in all dishes prepared according to proper timelines and recipes given
    • Prepare and present all meals according to standardized recipes and plating
    • Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards in all preparation
    • Report directly to the Head Chef

    Job Specification:

    • 1+ years cooking experience
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work on a team in a fast paced environment
    • Organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail
    • Ability to follow directions and recipes with exactness
    • High standard of personal hygiene and appearance
    • Knife skills and up to date knowledge of modern food preparation
    • Ability to be on feet for several hours at a time
    • Servsafe training preferred, Utah food handler’s permit
    • Must pass background check and random drug tests

  • Restaurant Host/Server

    Food and Beverage
    Mt. Carmel
    $9.00 / hour + tips

    It is the Host/Server’s responsibility to greet, check-in, and take orders from guests as well as delivering food. They are responsible for the day-to-day flow of guests in and out of the restaurant and ensuring correct seating, monetary transactions, and excellent customer service.

    • Greet guests in a friendly and informative manner, answer all guests questions
    • Have a thorough knowledge of the menu, ingredients, kitchen policies, and resort general information
    • Upsell menu items to guests
    • Use POS systems to put in to go orders, ensure correct financial transactions
    • Learn to connect POS to reservations systems to charge guests to their lodging
    • Deliver plates in a quick and professional manner, ensure presentation and plating are consistent with restaurant standards
    • Clear tables quickly and efficiently, sanitize properly, and reset tables
    • Stock station with necessary items, ensure par levels are maintained and keep stations clean and organized
    • Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards in all Front of House operations
    • Ensure that all opening and closing duties are performed fully on a daily basis and that cleanliness and maintenance of buffet and other front of house items are maintained
    • Determine guests needs and seat them accordingly, arrange tables and chairs as needed – keeping in mind server sections and their abilities
    • Assist servers and other FOH in their duties as needed

    Job Specification:

    • Previous restaurant experience a plus
    • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to deal with difficult service situations with fluidity
    • Ability to work on a team in a fast paced environment
    • Organized and capable of multi-tasking with attention to detail
    • Ability to handle money and process transactions as trained
    • High standard of personal hygiene and appearance
    • Utah food handlers permit and alcohol license (if over 21 years old)
    • Must pass background check and random drug tests
    • Friendly and outgoing personality
    • Capable of working mornings/afternoons/evenings as well as weekdays/weekends/holidays

    How you can make a difference

    • Consistently provide clean and maintained lodging to each guest of our resort
    • Lead and inspire a passion for providing great experiences at Zion Ponderosa
    • Take it upon yourself to be sure the details of success are executed each day

    What you’ll be doing

    • Work with crew leader and other managers to produce a clean quality first impression for each guest in every lodging type
    • Training on and capable of completing your assigned station beds, bathrooms, kitchens, floors, laundry, public spaces etc.
    • Organize all stations of equipment and keep it clean during shift
    • Potentially assist with other lodging types or resort areas when asked by manager
    • Train others when asked on elements you show skill in
    • Assist in all nightly cleaning and re setting duties
    • Be an example of proper guest interaction and resort representation
    • Do your part to be organized to get arrivals ready for check in by 4pm
    • Contact stay over guests for any needs within their lodging

    What you will need to be successful

    • Humble attitude to help anywhere, Hungry enough to work hard to do your part and Smart ability to manage co worker and guest emotions to reach success
    • Attentive to the details that need to be followed through with in a timely matter
    • Experience in cleaning professionally is great, but not necessary

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Hourly rate DOE, starting at $10/hour, Estimated hours per week 40 (5 days on 2 days off)
    • Free onsite housing (deposit required $200, maintenance fee for dorm $30/Month)
