The Food Service Manager is responsible for the overall organization, planning, and operation of the Ranch’s food service department. This position plays an important role in creating a welcoming, nutritious, and enjoyable dining experience for students, teachers, conference guests, and staff.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee food service operations, including budgeting and resource management.
• Plan and coordinate high-volume food preparation and meal service.
• Monitor food quantities, quality, presentation, and service.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
• Prepare required written reports and maintain appropriate records.
• Hire, train, supervise, and support kitchen staff.
• Coordinate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth Ranch operations.
• Promote a positive, professional, and welcoming food service environment.

The ideal candidate will take pride in providing high-quality food service and creating a positive experience for the diverse groups who visit Walker Creek Ranch.
Walker Creek Ranch is an Outdoor Education School and Conference Center owned and operated by the Marin County Office of Education. Located at 1700 Marshall-Petaluma Road, the Ranch is nestled in the beautiful rural setting of West Marin, approximately 30 minutes west of Novato and Petaluma.
Walker Creek Ranch offers a unique and rewarding work environment, with a beautiful facility and a dedicated, collaborative staff. Weekend work and residency at the Ranch may be required.

We host an additional 5,000 guests each year for private conferences, family reunions, weddings, and more.
