UXU Ranch – Now Hiring Housekeepers for the 2026 Season
Season: May 10 – September 10, 2027
Location: Shoshone National Forest, Wyoming (17 miles from Yellowstone National Park)
We’re looking for hardworking, dependable, detail-oriented Housekeepers who take pride in their work, enjoy taking care of guests, and understand that on a small dude ranch, everyone pitches in.
Housekeeping is an important part of the UXU guest experience. Our guests come to Wyoming for the horses, mountains, Yellowstone, and Western adventure—but at the end of the day, they also expect to return to a clean, comfortable, well-cared-for cabin.
If you enjoy staying busy, working with a close-knit team, and aren't afraid to jump in wherever you're needed, we'd love to talk with you.
What You’ll Do
Cabins, Lodge & Laundry
Your Primary Role — Housekeeping
Your main responsibility will be helping us maintain the cleanliness, comfort, and Western hospitality our guests expect throughout their stay. Cabins are turned on Thursday/Friday (depending on which program the guests choose). They are not cleaned daily, unless requested by the guest.
Cabins, Lodge & Laundry
Clean and maintain approximately 10 historic guest cabins and the Main Lodge
Provide housekeeping service for occupied cabins (see above)
Make beds, change linens, and restock towels and guest amenities
Vacuum, dust, mop, sanitize, and clean windows as needed
Maintain lodge bathrooms and shared guest areas
Keep the laundry room clean, organized, and running efficiently
Wash, dry, fold, organize, and rotate linens and towels
Assist with cleaning designated areas of the kitchen
Monitor housekeeping supplies and coordinate reordering through the front desk
Report maintenance, damage, or safety concerns promptly
Help keep the ranch looking welcoming, cared for, and ready for our guests
Assist with dining room setup, serving, bussing, or cleanup on all meals
Team Support
Help in other departments as required
Pitch in wherever needed — ranch life is a team effort
The attitude we're looking for is simple: if something needs doing, we work together and get it done.
Schedule
Seasonal position: May 10 – September 10, 2026
Typically, a 6-day workweek
Weekend and holiday work may be required
Long, active days in a fast-paced ranch environment
Compensation & Perks
Wages based on experience
Room & board included
Tips
Horseback Riding (subject to availability)
Complimentary staff trips (subject to availability):
Yellowstone National Park
White Water Rafting
Cody Night Rodeo
Fishing & Hiking
Western clothing discounts
No commuting — live and work on-site
What We're Looking For
Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience is helpful, but work ethic, reliability, attitude, and attention to detail matter just as much.
You should be:
Dependable and ready to work
Detail-oriented and proud of a job well done
Comfortable working independently without constant supervision
A strong team player
Friendly and respectful around guests and coworkers
Physically capable of an active job involving lifting, bending, stairs, laundry, and being on your feet throughout the day
Comfortable with a fast-paced environment and changing priorities
Willing to work weekends and holidays as needed
Willing to help outside your primary department when the ranch needs an extra hand
No Smoking or Pets
This is ranch life. Some days are long, plans occasionally change, and everyone pitches in. A positive attitude goes a long way.
Why Work at UXU Ranch
More Than Just a Summer Job..read our reviews!
UXU Ranch has been welcoming guests to this corner of Wyoming since 1929.
You'll live and work surrounded by mountains, wildlife, horses, the Shoshone River, and some of the most spectacular country in the West. Yellowstone National Park is just down the road, and Cody, Wyoming is close enough for a day off while still feeling a world away when you're back at the ranch.
It's hard work. It's not a resort job where every day looks the same.
But for the right person, that's exactly what makes it special.
We're looking for people who want to work hard, become part of a team, meet guests from around the country and the world, and finish the season with some incredible Wyoming memories.
Come work where the West is still the West.
UXU Ranch — You should be here.
