Getting Here and Getting Around

Canyonlands regional airport is just outside the town of Moab. The airport in Grand Junction also provides regional air service in the area. Interstate 70 is nearby which offers connection to the local area and beyond.

Summer brings higher temperatures and reduced precipitation and during the fall and winter you can expect cooler temperatures. ULUM Moab is a high desert location which means low humidity, warm temperatures during the day, and cooler temperatures at night.     Chef De Cuisine

    The Chef De Cuisine is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and production within the resort’s Food and Beverage department. This role exemplifies culinary excellence by personally performing tasks while leading and managing all food-related functions. Key responsibilities include overseeing menu development, purchasing, COG control, staffing, and food preparation for the resort's restaurant. The Chef De Cuisine collaborates across departments with the entire resort team to enhance guest and employee satisfaction while adhering to budgetary constraints. Ensuring sanitation and food safety standards are met is paramount, along with developing and training the culinary team to meet high standards.

    Core Work Activities

    • Ensuring Culinary Standards and Responsibilities are Met 

    • Supervises shift operations in the resort kitchen, ensuring compliance with all Food & Beverage policies, standards, and procedures. 

    • Maintains proper food handling, storage standards, and sanitation practices. 

    • Develops, designs, and implements new procedures, ideas, systems, or products, including artistic contributions to the restaurant.

    • Knowledge of federal food safety standards and current Food Safety Manager certification required. Expectation to become acquainted with state regulations.

    As a Line Cook, you are an integral part of our food and beverage program. You will work with other Back of the House team members to deliver on culinary standards in our live fire kitchens.     Facilities

    Camp Facilities Technician 2

    $16.00 / hour

    As a Facilities Technician, you work closely with the Facilities Supervisor to ensure our glamping location is well-maintained, safe, and operational for our team members and guests. You play an important role in our success by performing daily maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of our tents, amenities, equipment, and property. Depending on the camp location, the nature of work performed will vary from basic upkeep to more technical functions such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing. This is a seasonal, hourly position that includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment.

    Utility Worker

    $16.50 - $17.00 / hour
    Moab, Utah

    Fresh air, nature, and working with a great team! As a Utility Worker with Under Canvas, you are responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation of dishes, tableware, glassware, pots, pans, and utensils through manual and machine cleaning methods. Reporting to a Kitchen Manager, you will work with a team of peers to keep things clean and organized in the kitchen and ready to serve our guests. This is a seasonal, hourly position and includes the option of team member housing for the duration of employment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • You maintain composure, take action, are resourceful, and solutions-minded in unpredictable situations such as weather, diverse needs of guests, or incidents on property
    • Reporting kitchen accidents or violations of food safety codes and procedures
    • Sweeping and mopping floors, especially in the event that items are broken or spilled
    • Taking out the trash and rinsing garbage cans
    • Ensuring the availability of clean dishes by bussing tables, washing dishes, pots, pans, and flatware, and resetting dining areas
    • Cleaning machines and appliances used in the kitchen, such as coffee makers, pots, pans, mixers, etc.
    • Unloading and storing deliveries
    • Supporting other restaurant staff members by assisting with other tasks, as needed
    • Preparing dining areas and kitchen for next shift by cleaning and restocking dining areas and cook stations
    • Demonstrate the ability to problem solve independently or in collaboration with your team and/or supervisor
    • Other duties as assigned
