About Two Sisters Cafe
Two Sisters Cafe is a full-service restaurant that specializes in handmade Food With Love. We offer a unique and world-famous dining experience in our eclectic, eccentric cafe setting during the summer season (approx. June 1 - Sept 30). We offer a more diverse, non-corporate setting for the adventurous at heart!
The Employee Experience
Two Sisters Café offers a unique experience to seasonal employees just outside of Glacier National Park along the Crown of the Continent in northwest Montana. Located in a remote, incredibly beautiful area on the western edge of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation, our staff has the opportunity to explore some of the last untouched wilderness in the lower 48 states.
In addition to endless hiking options (over 600 miles of hiking trails in Glacier National Park alone), fishing, whitewater rafting, camping, horseback riding, outdoor and wildlife photography, unparalleled star gazing and northern light watching are just some of the activities available. Local cultural opportunities include the local North American Indian Days in Browning, the capital of the Blackfeet Nation, which is one of the largest powwows in the United States, weekly shows by Indigenous dancers and storytellers at the Park visitor center, two local museums featuring Plains Indians culture, and local artwork and crafts available to purchase.
We still love to encourage diversity and encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ applicants to seek a position.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate for employment at Two Sisters Café is a high energy, enthusiastic team player with a keen desire to enjoy the outdoors. Two Sisters Café is a very busy restaurant, so an excellent work ethic and the ability to work in a sometimes stressful environment are a must. While restaurant experience is always an advantage, we do offer some positions for those new to the industry. We always look for an interest in food and trends within the industry as we prepare the vast majority of our menu by hand. A desire to learn classic preparation techniques or to excel in customer service are always traits we seek in our staff. We maintain stringent quality standards and take tremendous pride in our food, so candidates must be willing and able to maintain those standards of both preparation and service.
Room and Board
Our employee housing consists of log cabins housing 2 – 4 employees, with kitchenettes and shower bathrooms in each cabin. We are in a small, wooded compound surrounded by abundant wildlife and incredible views located just a short walk from the restaurant. Housing is $6.00 per day for first-year employees.
We also offer shift meals to each employee and we offer a 25% employee discount on food (not including alcohol, desserts, or retail items) in the café during non-working hours.
Employee Perks
Two Sisters employees live in a small wooded compound, with a common employee campfire area. Because of our excellent relationship with local activity companies, our staff enjoys discounts with white water rafting companies and local excursion boat trips. We will be closed on Saturday, so there will be a guaranteed mutual day off for group hikes or other activities.
Getting Here and Getting Around
All transportation assistance is by arrangement only, with a minimum of two weeks notice. Employees are responsible for travel to East Glacier or Whitefish (train), Great Falls or Kalispell (airports), and are responsible for expenses to get to Babb.
While there is an excellent shuttle system inside Glacier National Park, there is no local public transportation. For this reason, we recommend that employees come by car. If, however, you do not have a car, we can help with initial transportation to and from town for a small fee, and there are usually plenty of other staff members willing to help with rides. If you are a bike rider, we are located 4 miles to either of the nearest two villages.
Some restrictions apply, so contact Two Sisters Café before you have secured your travel plans.
For Fun
If you love being outdoors in one of the most beautiful places on earth, this is the place for you! Surrounded by incredible vistas, you will have the opportunity to hike and camp on over 600 miles of trails, whitewater raft on the scenic Flathead River, fish the most incredible lakes and streams you’ve ever seen, see more wildlife than you can imagine, and more. There’s biking up the Going To The Sun Highway, canoeing or swimming in Lower St Mary Lake (adjacent to the Cafe), wildlife and nature photography, and the list goes on. We also provide a fire pit for the exclusive use of our staff as long as open fires are permitted.
In addition, we are very close to Canada. If you have a passport, you'll want to bring it! In addition to Waterton Peace Park and other cultural attractions, Calgary is only a 3 hour drive if you want a weekend in the big city!
