The Town of Jackson, Public Works Department is accepting applications for several full time, year-round, Street Operators or Equipment Operators. Hiring range $62,400 - $73,000 annually $30-$35/HR DOQ. The full salary range based on longevity with the Town for Street Operator is $30 - $38/HR and for Equipment Operator is $30 - $40.50/HR. 

$10,000 signing bonus provided as follows: $5,000 after completion of 90 days of employment + $5,000 provided after completion of 1 year of employment. While conducting snow removal operations starting at 2:30AM, Street Operators receive a $1.50/hour premium payment for those hours with an increase in the shift differential premium after 1 year of employment is completed.

The primary duties include snow removal operations in the winter months and street repair, street sweeping, crosswalk/curb and gutter painting, weed abatement and general maintenance in the spring, summer, fall months. This position is included in the federally mandated DOT-FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Testing Program which includes pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, post-accident and random drug testing.

This position has full benefits offered by the Town of Jackson including health, vision, dental, life, short and long term disability insurance, all premiums paid 100%, annual HSA matching contributions ($1350-single, $2700-family), government retirement benefits through the Wyoming Retirement System (defined benefit plan contributing 19.12% of gross wages), $1000 deferred compensation match, and a generous Paid Time Off (PTO) system, which covers vacation, sick and holidays with 6 weeks of up front paid leave with additional leave for specific circumstances. 

A $7500 signing/longevity bonus is provided over 3 years. Operators are eligible to advance in position and compensation under a time in service/merit/mastery of skills system from Street Operator to Equipment Operator, Equipment Operator II, Equipment Operator III and Senior Equipment Operator with an additional 4.5% increase in addition to annual wage increases for advancements and placement in higher salary range with higher maximum salaries.

Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: High School graduation or equivalent, a Wyoming Class B Commercial Drivers License (CDL), and experience as an equipment operator or in snow removal operations.
