About Tony Harper's Pizza & Clam Shack, Inc
We like to think of ourselves as pioneers in an increasingly difficult industry. We find solutions together with our staff and move forward. Whether it be a pandemic, increasing inflation or supplier shortages. We meet such demands as a challenge. We will always have our staff and our guests as our main priorities. We think maintaining regular, consistent hours of operation and stability is important to our guests and staff during uncertain times. We believe the experience within our walls should be a good one for staff as well as guests. We have learned a lot over the last 22 years about ourselves and our company. We love our guests but cherish our staff! Together anything is possible.
We currently have four locations. We opened our 4th location July 3rd 2022. We are looking for seasonal employees, year-round employees, part or full time. Any time you can devote to us is appreciated. Come live, work, and play with us in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains if only for a short while.
The Employee Experience
Have you heard the expression "work hard, play hard"? We think that sums it up. If you enjoy being busy while the hours fly by, this might be a good fit. If you are called upon to fill multiple positions and enjoy learning new things, this could be the place for you. If you sometimes find it exciting to be pushed out of your comfort zone a little by doing a job you are not familiar with or working with the public when you aren't used to it, then this is where you should be.
We like to cross-train staff when they are willing. Most of our cooks also know how to take orders, some of our FOH staff like to get involved in the kitchen. We all do dishes occasionally. We are upbeat and guest-obsessed even when our feet hurt. We gather with our coworkers, new friends, often with the regular guests you get to know. It's a small town. We watch the trains and the day-trippers leave and we are left with the most beautiful landscape to call our own. People flock here for a reason. There is much to do and explore.
Ideal Candidate
Self starter, motivated. People who truly enjoy making a difference. If you like going the extra mile to make a guest happy and enjoy working as a team, this will be a good fit.
Room and Board
We have staff housing that comes in many forms. We have a house across the street that has two apartments that are both 2 bedrooms. Bedrooms are either single or shared depending on the apartment. We have 6 rooms above the restaurant in Old Forge. These rooms are all different configurations. We also have housing at our Raquette Lake location (summer season only). We have a large apartment at our Lowville location and will have housing at our newest location in Inlet, NY.
There is a fee for housing of $125 per week. This includes internet and all utilities. Housing is available on a first-come, first-served basis. We try to house friend groups together when possible. All housing is either onsite or within walking distance. Housing is limited to staff working full time.
Employee Perks
We offer end-of-season bonuses based on hours worked and completing the season. Free gym memberships are available. We have a few seasonal ski passes for the winter. We get day passes for Water Safari, NY's largest water park located a few blocks away.
Getting Here and Getting Around
You can fly into NYC and take a train to Utica, NY where you then either get a cab or Uber to Old Forge which is approximately 50 miles. We can arrange transport from Utica if you arrive during daytime working hours.
We are 50 miles away from the nearest city which is Utica, NY. We are about 2 hours from Syracuse, NY and about the same distance from Albany, NY.
We are pretty far up north, about 4 hours from Vermont. We recommend having a car but it's not necessary as you can walk to everything in town. We do not charge for the first week of housing to help offset the cost of transportation.

We are within walking distance of the beach, shopping, and restaurants. Old Forge has a water park, as well as a ski resort, McCauley Mountain.
You can swim, boat, water ski, hike, kayak, climb mountains, mountain bike, camp, ride the chair lift, and go white water rafting (summer).
