Job Summary:

The Cold Side Dishwasher/Prep Cook plays a key support role in maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen. This position is responsible for washing dishes, cleaning kitchen equipment, and assisting with basic food preparation. It requires attention to detail, strong time management, and a team-oriented attitude to help keep kitchen operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities: 

Dishwashing Duties: 

● Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment 

● Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area 

Prep Cook Duties: 

● Assist with basic food prep tasks, such as washing, peeling, chopping, following recipes to make sauces, and portioning ingredients 

● Set up and stock prep stations with necessary supplies 

● Follow food prep instructions as listed in the Tavern Back of House Manual 

● Properly label, date, and store prepared items 

● Make salads, dress sandwiches/burgers, etc. and put final plates into service window 

General: 

● Maintain a clean and safe work environment 

● Work efficiently and communicate with other team members 

● Support Hot Side and Front of House staff as needed 

● Use the handheld POS to cash out To Go orders at the backdoor and process payments and provide correct change or receipts as needed 

● Take out trash, recycling, and compost as needed 

● Clean floors, surfaces, and complete opening and closing duties as assigned 

● Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

● Previous kitchen or dishwashing experience is preferred 

● Strong work ethic and a team-oriented mindset 

● Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team 

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment 

● Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs 

● Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
