Position Overview
The Motel Manager is responsible for overseeing all day‑to‑day motel operations and serving as the primary point of contact for guests both in person and over the phone. This role ensures smooth, efficient, and guest‑focused operations while supporting the broader business whenever needed. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable jumping into any task that keeps the Cowboy Inn running at a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Services & Reservations
Serve as the primary reservation agent, managing all bookings accurately and maintaining an up‑to‑date reservation schedule.
Answer all incoming phone calls during scheduled shifts and while on‑call.
Greet guests upon arrival, handle check‑ins/check‑outs, and provide exceptional customer service.
Act as the first point of contact for all motel inquiries, issues, and guest needs.
Operational Oversight
Oversee daily motel operations, ensuring smooth workflow across front desk, housekeeping, and maintenance.
Ensure rooms are clean, prepared, and ready for arrivals; coordinate with housekeeping to maintain efficiency and quality standards.
Conduct regular room checks and maintain operational checklists for housekeeping, maintenance, and front desk procedures.
Develop, update, and enforce motel operational systems, checklists, and standards.
Cross‑Department Support
When motel operations are slow, assist in other areas of the Cowboy Inn, including but not limited to:
Serving tables and providing customer service in the restaurant.
Bussing tables and supporting the bar/restaurant team.
Performing light maintenance or general tasks needed throughout the business.
Supporting any department that requires additional help to maintain smooth operations.
Administrative & Leadership Duties
Maintain accurate records, logs, and operational documentation.
Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and ownership regarding daily needs and issues.
Help uphold a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for guests and staff.
Support training and onboarding of new motel staff as needed.
Qualifications
Prior hospitality or customer service experience preferred; motel/hotel experience a plus.
Strong communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor.
Ability to multitask, stay organized, and manage time effectively.
Comfortable working independently and making decisions during on‑call hours.
Willingness to assist in any area of the business when needed.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with reservation systems (training provided).
Work Environment
This role is hands‑on, guest‑facing, and essential to the Cowboy Inn’s daily operations. The Motel Manager must be adaptable, reliable, and ready to step into a variety of tasks to support the business.
