Room and Board

Employee Housing is available in the form of shared, dorm style apartment units. 2 and 5 bedroom units that are shared between 2 and 5 occupants depending on size.

Each unit has a full kitchen & bathroom and living area. Washer and dryers are also available free of charge. Affordable housing costs depending on the unit. All utilities are included, though meals not included. Housing have kitchens so that you can cook for yourself.

Employee housing also includes an employee exercise room, an employee lounge area with a pool table, tv, computer, and movies. There is also an employee BBQ area. Weekly transportation to Moab is provided for employees to purchase supplies and groceries.

    Baker

    Moab

    Join the dynamic team at Sorrel River Ranch Resort & Spa. We are taking the resort to new levels! 

    We are looking for a full-time Baker to assist in the day to day operations.

    Only experienced Bakers need apply. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to be part of a new concept and assist in developing the baking program for the entire Ranch. 

    • ​​​​​​To assist in delivering high quality bakery and pastry products
    • To monitor all costs and recommend measures to control them.  
    • To ensure that the Department Operational Budget is strictly adhered to.
    • To monitor all cost and recommend / institute measures to control them.

    Food And Beverage

    F & B Supervisor

    • Meet and greet all customers where possible. 
    • Advise customers on all F&B choices and ensure the restaurant staff have similar product knowledge.
    • Supervise all kitchen and dining room activities and ensure optimal quality of all production and coordinate with guests to maintain optimal level of customer satisfaction and analyze all customer requirements and provide efficient response. 
    • Assist with the training of restaurant staff including holding annual performance reviews 
    • Assist with maintaining high standards of quality control, hygiene, and health and safety throughout 
    • Collaborate with manager to review all employee performance and provide training to increase all performance and monitor all guest requests efficiently to achieve all customer objectives and maintain knowledge on all liquor regulations.

    Responsibilities:

    Property Operations

    Maintenance Mechanic & Maintenance Water Treatment Plant Certification

    Moab

    Position Overview

    A maintenance mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment with Sorrel River Ranch & Spa. Performing routing preventative maintenance checks, troubleshooting malfunctions, and ensuring the smooth operation of mechanical systems by utilizing various hand and power tools, all while adhering to safety regulations


     

    Position Responsibilities

    Plumbing:  Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of faucets, pipes, hot water tanks, toilets, garbage disposals, and kitchen appliances.

    Electrical: Includes the repair, replacement, and installation of power switches, fuses, wall sockets, ceiling fans and climate control systems.

    General carpentry: Includes assisting with the repairing of floors, roofs, and doors and installation of new products as needed.  This could include windows, carpets, light fixtures and drywall repairs.

    • Ability to troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment and components.

    • Maintain all refrigeration, HVAC, Kitchen, and laundry equipment.

    • Work independently and as a team with and around mechanical and chemical systems.

    • Working independently and as a team with electrical voltages up to and including 480-volt circuits and controls.

    • Working independently and as a team with refrigerants.

    • Use of appropriate hand tools, such as drills, hammers, knives, wrenches, and screwdrivers, etc.

    • Working in hot and cold environments.

    • Use of all personal protections equipment’s (PPE), lock out tag out and all necessary safety equipment.

    • Able to work with systems such as telephone switches, guest and employee internet networks, guest room door lock systems, and work order systems.

    • Receive directions from management on daily assignments or projects and complete them in a timely manner.

    • Receive directions for house calls via radio and respond promptly and appropriately.

    • Complete appropriate documents and logs for work assigned daily.

    • Any other tasks assigned. 


     

    Education/Experience

    • Previous general maintenance experience in a hotel setting

    • Completion of a registered apprenticeship program

    • Valid journeyman license or certification in the relevant trade

    • Previous HVAC, mechanical, plumbing maintenance experience required.

    • Knowledge of commercial kitchen and laundry equipment is required; commercial refrigeration experience is a plus.

    • Previous experience with response to emergency situations.

    • Thorough working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and refrigeration systems.

    • Good communications, diligence, time management, and guest satisfaction skills are required.

    • Ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, squat, kneel and bend over for extended periods of time.

    • Ability to lift/carry/push/pull up to 100 lbs. occasionally.


     

    Ranch Hand

    Position Overview

    The Hotel Ranch Hand is a versatile team member who provides cross-department assistance to ensure smooth hotel operations and excellent guest experience. This role supports housekeeping, maintenance, front desk, laundry, and food & beverage as needed. Ideal candidates are flexible, proactive, customer-focused, and skilled in a variety of tasks.


     

    Position Responsibilities

    Guest Services / Front Desk Support / Bellman

    • Greet guests and provide basic customer service when needed

    • Assist with check-ins/outs in busy periods

    • Handle simple guest requests, deliveries (towels, amenities), and room readiness updates

    • Communicate issues or guest concerns to the appropriate department

    Housekeeping & Laundry Assistance

    • Clean guest rooms and public spaces when assigned

    • Restock housekeeping closets, linens, and supplies

    • Assist with laundry operations: washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens

    • Perform room inspections or help turn rooms during high occupancy

    Maintenance & Facilities Support

    • Perform basic repairs (lightbulbs, unclog drains, tighten fixtures, touch-up painting)

    • Assist maintenance staff with larger tasks or seasonal projects

    • Monitor property cleanliness, safety, and equipment function

    • Report any major issues to the maintenance department or supervisor


     

    Food & Beverage

    • Help set up, restock, and maintain breakfast area or pantry

    • Extensive retail background,  with a minimum of 3 years in a retail environment.

    • Ability to manage front of house staff (retail clerk) and culinary as needed.

    FINE DINING SERVER 

    Sorrel River Ranch is a Four Diamond luxury guest ranch located along the scenic Colorado River surrounded by 2,000-foot-high cliffs, buttes, and mesas. This exclusive 240-acre riverside oasis is 17 miles from Moab, 21 miles from Arches National Park and 43 miles from Canyonlands National Park.

    • Candidate must have thorough knowledge of all menus, specials, wine lists, beers, and drinks.
    • Receive customers’ orders and relay them to the kitchen promptly and accurately.

    Must have a license to practice in the state of Utah prior to arrival. Seasonal position to October 31-Nov 30, 2017 SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: Must provide and maintain proper licensing and participate in any continuing education required but the State of Utah, county and/or any special training required to perform specific treatments or services such as Yoga, Reiki, Maturity (prenatal), Watsu, Hot Stone, etc. Become proficient in all required treatments and their protocols and products within a reasonable period relative to one’s initial date of hire. Must be aware of one’s schedule at all times and of any last minute changes Must obtain a supervisor’s approval before making any scheduling changes Adhere to all professional codes of ethics to include proper draping of clients at all times, always instilling a sense of safety and trust with all guests. Any misappropriate conduct will not be tolerated and most likely will result in immediate termination. Must be willing and available for on-call 7 days a week if necessary due to the seasonal/ short term nature of this resort Must have an understanding that, though there is no seniority at this time or priority ranking of therapists; that there is still NO promise of balanced bookings.     To embody The Sorrel River Ranch standard by exceeding guest expectations in all areas of service. Manage small and large details related to guest requests and communicate necessary follow-up with pertinent teams.  Support the Front Office and the Experience team by working to implement the itinerary for guest daily coordination. Work tirelessly to execute The Sorrel River Ranch mission through supporting The Sorrel River Ranch operations team and stepping up to complete all tasks that need to be done. Work to further The Sorrel River Ranch product by questioning operational norms, proposing solutions, and striving to innovate and streamline The Sorrel River Ranch operations.


     

    Position Responsibilities:

    • Lead informative and engaging tours showcasing the natural beauty and adventure opportunities near Moab, Utah. Tours include UTV experiences, hikes and bike tours.

    • Provide in-depth knowledge about local destinations and areas of interest, including Arches National Park, Canyonlands National Park, and other scenic areas.

    • Ensure the safety and well-being of tour participants throughout excursions. Tailor tours to accommodate diverse guest interests and preferences, offering personalized experiences.

    • Deliver exceptional hospitality by creating memorable moments and exceeding guest expectations.

    • Collaborate with resort staff to promote and coordinate tour offerings effectively.

    • Demonstrate a passion for the outdoors and knowledge of the local environment and history.

    • Educate guests on geography, local history, local flora and fauna.

    Moab

    All successful wrangler candidates should have proven horse skills with solid guest service experience as well. Knowledge and experience of western riding is a must. Must be safety conscious, have the ability to instruct guests and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible for conducting safe trail rides and safety of staff and guests on horse back as well as in the barn area. Ideal candidate will posses extensive experience with horses and previous western riding experience Some veterinarian knowledge and previous experience teaching lessons, a plus. Must be willing to learn the local area and the other amenities offered by the resort. Job duties include but are not limited to; cleaning corral area, barn and maintenance of all tack and equipment, keeping files up to date, maintaining health and welfare of the herd and any other tasks as assigned. Must be available from March through November. Must supply own uniform. Must be 18 years of age. Seasonal position from about Feb 1 to October 31- Nov 30, 2017
