The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch offers a range of subsidized housing options to support the needs of our seasonal and year round team members. Due to the ranch spanning 150,000 acres in a remote and scenic part of Eastern Oregon, team member housing may require a commute ranging from a 10 – 40 minute drive to The Retreat (including housing located on the ranch or retreat).

The Retreat at Silvies Valley Ranch is located in a remote and rural part of Eastern Oregon. Planning your travel is an important part of beginning your season successfully.
Getting Here
Team members arrive by car, as the ranch is several hours from major airports and public transportation is extremely limited to the region and unavailable to the ranch.
Closest commercial airports include:
- Boise, ID (BOI) – approximately 3 hours away
- Redmond, OR (RDM) – approximately 3.5 hours away
Employees are responsible for arranging their own transportation to the ranch. Once hired, our team provides detailed directions, packing lists, and arrival guidance to ensure a smooth start.
Getting Around
Because we’re situated on a 150,000-acre working ranch with no public transit, having a personal vehicle is required.
A vehicle is needed to:
- Travel to and from work, including all Retreat housing locations
- Shop for groceries and other essentials
- Explore nearby towns and recreational areas on days off

Current Job Openings
Assist with food preparation for scratch-made dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of all kitchen workstations, equipment, and storage areas.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of ingredients, especially ranch-raised beef and chevon.
Help with plating and mise en place during meal service, following chef instructions.

- Serve all meals and beverages with attention to detail and professionalism, ensuring a seamless five-star dining experience.

- Lead and assist in a variety of daily guest activities such as UTV ranch tours, shooting ranges (pistol and rifle), fishing, rock climbing wall, ranch skills demonstrations, and more.
- Deliver engaging and informative interpretive experiences that highlight the local landscape, culture, and history.
- Ensure guest safety through proper instruction and adherence to ranch safety protocols.
- Operate Retreat vehicles, including UTVs, trucks, and other equipment safely and responsibly for guest transport, activity setup, and logistical support.
- Conduct routine checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance of recreational equipment, UTVs, and gear, report repairs or safety concerns promptly.

Provide high-quality massage therapy services, including Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone, and other modalities based on guest preference.
Conduct consultations with guests to understand their needs and recommend appropriate treatments.
Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming spa or massage environment.
Uphold all state licensing requirements and professional standards.
Collaborate with the wellness team to ensure a seamless and luxurious guest experience.

Line Cook
The seasonal Line Cook supports the Executive Chef and Sous Chef in maintaining a smooth and efficient scratch-made kitchen. This role assists with cooking on the line, food preparation, ingredient organization, dishwashing, and general kitchen operations while ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and quality. The Line Cook works closely with the culinary and front-of-house teams to help deliver exceptional dining experiences for our guests.
