Two Jobs, One Full Time Paycheck

We're looking for one person to fill two roles. Housekeeping keeps our cabins and glamping tents guest-ready; the bakery at Old Shell Store gets the pastry case filled before the doors open. Neither one alone is full-time work through the fall and winter — together they are, with a steady paycheck and a place to live. The two businesses sit a block and a half apart, so your whole day is within an easy walk.

These are genuinely different skill sets, and we know it. You don't need to arrive an expert at both. You do need to be the kind of person who takes pride in doing each one right.

HOUSEKEEPING — starting at $17/HOUR

• Cleaning cabins, glamping tents, the shower house, and common areas

• Turning rooms between guests on a deadline

• Working independently, without someone checking your list for you

BAKERY — starting at $13/HOUR PLUS TIPS

• Preparing and baking a daily rotation of pastries, cookies, small-batch rolls, and breakfast items

• Measuring and prepping accurately from our recipes; holding portion and consistency standards

• Opening the case, serving customers, making drinks, running the register

• Keeping the counter, seating area, and kitchen clean and stocked

• Tracking ingredient levels and telling the manager what to order

Some shifts you'll be the only baker there. You'll be trusted with an early start and an empty case.

THE SCHEDULE

Some days you'll start early at the bakery and move to housekeeping after. Other days housekeeping comes first. Hours from both roles combine into a full-time week, and the mix shifts with the season — heavier on housekeeping in summer, heavier on the bakery through the quiet months. Expect roughly 40 hours a week.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Comfortable in a kitchen and able to follow a recipe exactly — professional baking experience is a plus, not a requirement

• Able to work efficiently and independently in early morning hours with minimal supervision

• Attention to detail, in a clean cabin and in a tray of scones alike

• A positive attitude, and someone who genuinely enjoys being outdoors and will use what's out here

• Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs (flour and sugar bags)

• No pets

COMPENSATION & HOUSING

• starting at $17/hour housekeeping, starting at $13/hour bakery, plus tips on bakery hours

• Housing included: a large upstairs apartment above the bakery. Private living room, bedroom, and bathroom; the kitchen is shared with the bakery downstairs. Good wifi, laundry onsite and included.

Starting now, through spring. If it's a good fit on both sides, there's the option to stay on through the summer season and beyond — this doesn't have to be a seasonal job.

ABOUT SHELL, WYOMING

Shell sits on US Highway 14 about five miles from the Bighorn National Forest, on a popular route between the Black Hills and Mount Rushmore and Yellowstone National Park. Population: 83.
