- We own and lease real estate.
- We own and operate sightseeing tours on land and water. Whether it be Ziplining, Undersea adventures or Inland Tours, we have it all!
- We own and operate the world-famous Casino Building. (Not a gambling casino. Our casino has an 1184 seat theater and a beautiful ballroom, which hosts many major events such as a Blues Festival, Jazz Festival, and Country Music Festival.) We offer tours through this art-deco wonder every day.
- We own and operate a Campground right outside of Avalon.
- We own and operate three hotel properties. The Pavilion Hotel is just 14 steps from the beach and the Hotel Atwater is the largest hotel on the island. Our premier hotel, Mt Ada is the original Wrigley mansion.

Getting Here and Getting Around
Catalina Island Company does not reimburse for your transportation to the island.
There are two boat companies that come to the island:
Catalina Flyer from Newport Beach (949) 673-5245 or (800) 830-7744
Catalina Express from Dana Point, Long Beach and San Pedro (310) 519-1212 or (800) 618-5533.
You will need to call for a reservation. Times of departures vary according to boat company, day of the week and time of year.

Lead guests through zip line tours, canopy walks, and other adventure park activities.
Conduct pre-tour safety briefings and demonstrate proper use of equipment and harnesses.
Perform safety inspections and daily course checks to ensure equipment and lines are in top condition.
Assist guests with gear fitting and secure all harnesses and helmets properly.
Monitor guests throughout the course, offering guidance, encouragement, and assistance as needed.
Maintain a fun, positive, and engaging atmosphere for all participants.
Uphold all safety standards and emergency response procedures.

Performs proper safety checks while following a series of critical safety protocols and methods.
Conducts continuous inspections of course elements and equipment throughout each tour.

Educates participants about Santa Catalina Island ecology.
Debriefs participants enthusiastically while suggesting and cross-selling other Company venues, activities, and events.
Manages all safety equipment inspection and maintenance, including but not limited to cleaning, sanitizing, organizing and preparation. Follows safe working practices and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.
Assists with course maintenance efforts.
Attends required meetings and training.
Performs custodial tasks.
Maintains records and logs of daily activities.
Directs passengers into the vehicle for zipline.
Directs participants off the vehicle and escorts them to the initial platform for zipline.
Attaches participants to the zipline system and performs essential safety checks every time before anyone zips, including self.
Zips to consecutive platforms, demonstrating proper riding techniques.
Assists with the landing of each participant, ensuring their safety on every approach.

Minimum age requirement: 18 years old.
Previous experience in outdoor recreation, guiding, or customer service preferred.
As a condition of employment, candidates must successfully complete and pass a pre-employment physical and drug screening prior to starting employment.
The position requires meeting specific height and weight parameters necessary for the safe operation of equipment and compliance with industry safety standards. Candidates must meet the following physical requirements: 5 feet 4 inches and maximum weight of 230 pounds.
Comfortable working at heights and in varying outdoor weather conditions.
Maneuver themselves and customers through the adventure courses at height while balancing, suspending, climbing, reaching, stretching, pulling, and managing rope and cable systems.
Perform heavy manual labor.
Understand, interpret, and apply all pertinent laws, codes, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Demonstrate strong customer service skills and establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to remain calm and focused in high-energy or emergency situations.
Must pass company training and certification programs for zip line operations and first aid/CPR.
Physically fit with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
A valid Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record that is maintained throughout employment.
Bartenders
We need an enthusiastic Bartender with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills to provide a fabulous guest dining experience. Our ideal candidates have previous experience as a mixologist, take pride in their work, are highly organized and are proactive.
Campground Ranger
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining campsites to ensure grounds are well kept and meet company appearance standards. Perform minor repairs for guest facilities, as necessary. Assist guests with inquiries as needed.
Cooks
We are looking for dedicated cooks to prepare high-quality meals in accordance with health and safety regulations and as outlined by our Chef’s recipes. The cook’s responsibilities include following instructions relating to the timely preparation of food orders, organizing workstations, and assisting other cooks as needed. You should also be able to ensure that the refrigerators and storerooms are kept clean and tidy, products are properly sealed and labeled, and ensure food rotation.
To be successful as a cook, you should be able to use various cooking techniques and methods to prepare meals. A strong performer will be able to handle multiple food orders without compromising on the quality of the food they are preparing.
Counter Attendant
Dishwashers
Reliable, service-oriented individuals who enjoy working in hospitality. Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of kitchen items. Duties include washing dishes and keeping surrounding work area clean and organized. Previous experience in a fast-paced environment is helpful.
Front Desk Agents & Guest Services
Manage guest arrivals and departures. Perform administrative duties including telephone calls, guest reservations, guest concerns/requests. Work with housekeeping for updated room status and coordinate requests for maintenance and repair work. Must be proficient with computers. Day and Night shifts.
Hosts
Assist management and our servers by welcoming and seating guests. Greet them with a smile, answer their questions.
Hotel Bell Attendant
Greet guests in a welcoming and friendly manner. Assist guests with retrieving and loading luggage and personal items. Ensure public areas and hotel grounds are maintained and clean. Provide guests with information regarding local activities, dining, and services.
Maintenance Technicians
Perform routine maintenance tasks – painting, carpet/flooring, cleaning/polishing, lighting, minor furniture repairs, and plumbing.
Restaurant Supervisor
Manage day to day operations for restaurant front of house. Hire, supervise and train staff. Manage work schedules and execute daily shift meetings to set direction for the shift. Ensure delivery of high-quality food and exceptional service in a clean and well-maintained restaurant environment.
Security
Seeking seasonal Security Guards based in Avalon and Two Harbors. Responsibilities include securing premises, patrolling property, monitoring surveillance equipment and addressing any violations. Previous experience in security or law enforcement preferred.
Servers
Greet guests with a positive, friendly attitude. Communicate menu items, specials, and provide recommendations and pairings. Provide excellent customer service by ensuring the guests’ needs are met and a pleasant experience is provided.
Zipline & Aerial Adventure Guide
The Zip Line and Aerial Ropes Course Adventure Tour Guide is responsible for providing guests with a safe, exciting, and memorable outdoor experience. This role includes guiding participants through courses and adventure activities while ensuring all safety procedures are followed. The ideal candidate is energetic, personable, safety-focused, and passionate about delivering exceptional guest experiences in an outdoor environment.

Position Type: Seasonal
Season Dates: Must be able to start in mid February 2026 or May 2026 for required training. Season ends in September/October.
HOUSING
The Catalina Island Company offers shared housing as an option for eligible employees at a subsidized rate. Employees are responsible for paying a portion of the housing cost, typically deducted through payroll.
Accommodation generally includes shared bedrooms, shared bathrooms and a community kitchen. Housing is subject to availability and cost will vary based on location.
PAY TRANPARENCY
The pay scale for this position is $20.00 per hour. The pay is the hourly rate plus gratuities.
WORK ENVIRONMENT/ PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position primarily takes place outdoors and may involve exposure to varying weather conditions including sun, wind, and occasional rain. Employees should be comfortable working at heights, on uneven terrain, and performing physical tasks such as walking, climbing, or lifting equipment. Safety, communication, and guest engagement are top priorities while ensuring a fun and memorable experience for all participants.
Must be comfortable and able to stand for up to 6-8 hours per day. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Requires dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, management and team.
