As a Building Maintenance Laborer at Red Lodge Mountain, you will help care for the buildings and spaces that make a great mountain day possible. One day you may be assisting with a repair, the next you may be clearing snow, supporting a maintenance project, or helping another department solve an unexpected problem.

Your Daily Mission

• Assist with repairs, preventative maintenance, and general upkeep throughout Red Lodge Mountain properties.

• Help maintain base-area and mountain buildings so they remain safe, functional, and welcoming.

• Support basic construction and maintenance projects.

• Complete light janitorial and facility-cleaning duties when needed.

• Assist with snow and ice removal using shovels, snow scoops, snow blowers, and other equipment.

• Help manage garbage, recycling, and waste-removal programs.

• Safely operate tools, vehicles, and equipment after receiving proper training.

• Communicate clearly with coworkers, supervisors, managers, and other departments.

The Job

When the lifts stop spinning and the last guests head home, your work begins!

As a PM Janitor, you will help reset the resort each evening, so our buildings are clean, stocked, safe, and ready for another great mountain day. This is the perfect role for someone who takes pride in a job well done, enjoys working independently, and does not mind a little snow, cold weather, or behind-the-scenes adventure.

What You’ll Do

• Clean and maintain base-area buildings after the resort closes.

• Clean, sanitize, and restock restrooms throughout the resort.

• Empty trash and recycling and transport bags to designated dumpsters.

• Vacuum, mop, wipe down surfaces, and keep facilities guest-ready.

• Assist with snow removal using shovels, snow scoops, and snow blowers.

• Travel safely between resort facilities, which may include riding a chairlift, snowmobile, grooming machine, or skiing or snowboarding.

Summer Grounds & Facilities Team Member

Job Summary: Responsible for grounds maintenance and upkeep at RLM Golf Course clubhouse.  Responsible for janitorial duties in and around the companies’ public facilities including Red Lodge Mountain, Grizzly Peak Outdoors and Red Lodge Mountain Golf Course clubhouse. 

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned: 

• Clean all RLM facilities, including the clubhouse, GPO, and public facilities on the mountain.

• Efficiently clean and stock all bathrooms in all facilities throughout the day.

• Assist with snow removal, runoff mitigation, debris removal, and various grounds upkeep tasks.

• Assist other departments with cleaning/maintenance issues.

• Empty and transport garbage and recycling.

• Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

• May be transported to various facilities via golf cart, utv, snowmobile, chair lift, or snow grooming machines.

• Assist in addressing issues involving the general maintenance of all mountain, golf course, and downtown facilities providing a quality result.  

• Assist in electrical, plumbing, heating, or any other facility related issues. 

• Work with department on basic infrastructure issues involving water and sewer.

• Work closely with Terrain Park Manager to accomplish park design resets and general needs.

Ski Patrol is one of the most rewarding roles on the mountain, but it carries significant responsibility.

You may begin your day before sunrise, work in snowstorms and extreme cold, respond to serious medical emergencies, climb difficult terrain, manage guest conflicts, perform avalanche mitigation, and make decisions where safety matters immediately.

What You'll Do

As a Snowmaker, you'll help set up, operate, monitor, maintain, and shut down snowmaking equipment throughout the mountain.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Start up, operate, monitor, maintain, and shut down snowmaking equipment.

• Set up and move snow guns, hoses, and other snowmaking equipment as conditions change.

• Monitor weather, snowmaking conditions, and equipment throughout your shift.

• Identify and report equipment issues, unsafe conditions, or operational concerns to your supervisor.

• Work safely around pressurized water systems, mechanical equipment, snow, ice, and changing mountain conditions.

Vehicle Mechanic

Job Summary: Maintain, repair, and operate heavy equipment including snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, and snowmobiles               

Essential Job Responsibilities/Duties/Tasks include the following; other duties may be assigned:

• Primarily responsible for mechanical work on vehicle fleet (snow cats, graders, loaders, plow trucks, 4WD vehicles, ATV’s, and snowmobiles).
• Perform all maintenance and repairs in a safe manner and in compliance with OSHA guidelines.
• Assist operators in grooming trails/runs to produce quality snow surface for guests.
• Help plow and maintain mountain road/parking lot/courtyard using grader, loader, and plow truck.
• Complete maintenance logs and checklists.
• Remove/relocate snow and ice from equipment and trails.
• Advise supervisor of adverse conditions or problems as appropriate.
• Work at night in cold, wintry conditions.
• Perform daily checks and maintenance of vehicles and notify supervisor of problems beyond your skill set.
• Effectively communicate with other employees both in person and via telephone/two-way radio.

Required:

• Ability to monitor machinery and fix any problems that arise.
• Willingness to work as a team with operators/supervisor to ensure proper and safe operation/maintenance of vehicles.
• Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective communication with co-workers, supervisors, and managers.
• Ability to evaluate rapidly changing conditions in machine, weather, and environment.
• Ability to a varied schedule including weekends/holidays.

Experience/ Education

Required:

•  Current Montana driver license.

Preferred:

• Prior experience with welding and heavy equipment repair/maintenance.
• Experience operating heavy equipment and/or grooming.
• Experience operating a snowmobile.
• Previous experience working in harsh outdoor conditions.
• Knowledge of the ski industry.
