Boutique Hotel Seeks FOH Team Members for the Fall/Winter Season and Beyond

There’s nothing quite like fall in the San Juan Islands. Join the Orcas Hotel team and enjoy living and working in our little island oasis.

We’re hiring front-of-house team members for late fall and winter, with opportunities to stay year-round. Our historic 10-room hotel and café welcome travelers and locals daily, with café service from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The quieter months are a great time to learn the property and settle in before spring and summer. We require a minimum six-month commitment and prefer candidates interested in staying through summer 2027 and beyond.

Front of House

We’re a small, hands-on team, and this position combines responsibilities across the café, hotel and bar. Depending on experience and scheduling, duties may include:

• Making coffee, taking orders and serving guests
• Running food, bussing and restocking
• Checking in hotel guests and assisting with their needs
• Cleaning guest rooms and shared spaces
• Bartending or baking
• Pitching in wherever needed

At least one year of relevant hospitality experience is required. 

We’re looking for flexible, curious people who enjoy variety, support their teammates and take pride in keeping the property clean and welcoming. This is an opportunity to gain experience across several areas of a small hospitality business.

Pay & Benefits

• $18/hour base pay plus participation in the tip pool
• Total hourly earnings typically average around $24/hour during low season and significantly higher in summer; tips vary
• Shift meals and dining discounts
• Subsidized employee housing may be available ($400-$950/month)
• Seasonal and year-round opportunities and possible season-end bonus

Orcas Island offers exceptional access to hiking, state parks, beaches and water activities, alongside a strong local community. Our café overlooks the ferry landing and Salish Sea, with regular wildlife sightings right outside our windows.

Having your own transportation is encouraged. Candidates must have valid U.S. work authorization for the full employment period. Visa sponsorship is not available.
